I am not here to debate if the u.s. is an imperial power. That is not what i want to know.

If you look up the definition of an empire, it is two or more countries under one government. The u.s. has 50 states. The word state is another word for country. All 50 states are under the power of the same national government. So is the United States, with its 50 states under one centralized government, considered an empire?

I am 20 and have a 1 yr old boy. I live with both him as his mother in an apartment im renting. The thing is I've been working two jobs since october and havent had a day off since christmas. I work all week at a Burger Restaurant during the night and on weekends I work in a Seafood restaurant. I have been able to keep in tack with the bills, but i come all tired home and never really have time to spend with the family. Since there is only one car, and I cant afford much of child day care, My wife(18) stays at home taking care of our child. I applied for a college in Jan. but gave up when the Thea exam came, because I didnt had enough cash for it, and time to study before it. I'ved thought about quitting the seafood job. what should I do? Im only 20, can I still have hope in my life of achieving something better. how? I need help. Dont want to continue working two jobs forever.

Im 30 and my Girlfriend is 25, the hampshire PCT wont fund us till my girlfriend is between 36-39. Which is ridicolous as she is now at the best age of her life to carry a child. IVF is the only way in which we can concieve a child as i am azoospremic which means i have sperm but not the tubes to carry it, and this has been the way since birth. Is there any other way in which i can get funding that people know?

i very much believe it does have an affect. i work whith the general public & when it get within 3-5 days of a full moon people get more rude, strange & even down right mean.
