I live in australia, so I can't tell you where to go, But I can tell you that most people can be helped to have better sight using laser surgery, But not all. In Australia, the eye specialist will give a comprehensive testing of your eyes in order to ascertain if the laser surgery can help you, then you can decide if you want to go ahead with it or not.

It really depends on your specific situation. I was at the eye doctor yesterday and I am able to get the surgery. I can see up close, but cannot see far away. My eyes were healthy and I have no other problems.

My sister on the other hand cannot get the surgery. She has a astigmatism that makes it so she cannot do it.

It also depends on if your eyes are still changing or not, You don't want to get the surgery if your eyes are not finished changing.

I would end up not needing glasses, because of my situation. My father-in-law still needs glasses to read close up, but the surgery kept him from having to wear glasses for far away.

They do one eye at a time. Costs run between $900-$1400 each eye. Lasak surgery lets you put off having glasses until you turn age 40. There is a small chance your eyes will be worse after such surgery. And, you'll notice the doctor that does eye examinations will probably be wearing eyeglasses. (He won't risk his sight)
