At age 17, she attempted burglary with a man. That ended tragically when a woman was murdered. I feel sorry for that woman & her family, but also for Delara & hers. Originally, Delara claimed to be guilty, but later said that she did so at the request of the man, to spare him the death penalty. Since she was 17 & Iran had agreed not to execute people under 18, they thought she would be spared, whereas the 19 yr. old man would not be. Delara is now 20 and awaiting execution. While it is true that we cannot know who actually committed the murder, it is plausible that Delara did lie to save her friend from the death penalty, thinking her age would spare her. While it was wrong to attempt the burglary, we all do things that are wrong & burglary is not deserving of death. Neither is telling a lie to save a friend from being executed. Since we cannot know who the guilty party is, it would be wrong to sentence Delara to death. Will you sign the petition? http://www.PetitionOnline.com/DL2222/
