Can anyone tell me what gun he is holding on the movie poster?

or what he is shooting his target with in the trailer .35 sec. into it

By looking at the bolt handle and the safety switch it looks like a Remington 700 action. Since he is supposed to me an ex-marine it could be some kind of custom rifle like an M40. But like H said with that synthetic stock it's hard to tell exactly what it is. It most likely is a custom rifle.

The rifle 35 seconds into the trailer is a .50BMG rifle but I don't know which model.

Bound's hubby here:

Based on the movie description, it sounds like this movie is based on Stephen Hunter's books: Sniper and Time to Hunt. In these books, Bobby Lee Swagger uses a Remington 700 in .308 Winchester. At his trial, the rifle is described as having a Hart (I believe) barrel and an H&S Precision stock.

Sorry, I did not look at the trailer ... I think I'd like to see the movie and not want to spoil it!

Good luck!

I haven't seen the movie but from the poster it is a bolt action with synthetic stock. My best guess is either the Remington 700 series or the Winchester Model 70. The synthetic stock makes them all look the same.
