i've been dating a man who is 15 years older than me. we used to work at the same restaurant, i left a couple of weeks ago. a female customer who knows both of us, and is aware we are together started coming in about a month ago. neither of us had met her before this. he told me tonight that she has kissed/pecked him on the lips when she leaves the bar a few times. i said that hearing that made me uncomfortable and hurt my feelings a bit. i further explained that i was primarily offended that she would take this liberty with him knowing full well that he is my boyfriend. he told me i was naive, silly and juvinile. he refused to even acknowledge the fact that my feelings were hurt. i explained that i would never behave that way with another girls boyfriend. there was no crying involved. am i wrong for not approving of this girls behavior? oh, she has also come to him crying stating that she "loves sex". the whole thing doesn't sit well with me.

who swore up and down that religion was not divisive, but unifying. Then (she) proceeded to give me her (unsolicited) personal take on the state of American belief:

40% Agnostic wishy-washy cultural "Christians" who don't know what they believe or why they believe it
25% Cults who call themselves Christian (mormon, 7th day, JW, Word of faith, Yeshewa/yawah cults, etc)
15% Other religions (Hebrew, Islam, Pagan, etc)
10% Atheists
10% Real Christians

Of course, she's one of the few "real" Christians.

I am the only one that finds this exchange ironic?

i have been doing my lessons sooo long now, since jan 2006. (i know, pathetic) i told my driving instructor not to let me apply for my test untill he thought i was 100% ready. but now he is only picking on the tiniest little faults. a few friends have told me he might be trying to get as much money out of me as he can now before i have my test, as he tells me i am a perfect driver apart from these very minor faults which are just that i sometimes change gear a bit late or sometimes park too far away from the kerb. should i just put in for my test or should i carry on having more lessons? i do feel i am ready.

I have a friend 54 who has raised a family and is now alone, left with nothing, and needs to start again.
She is overwhelmed - especially since 'retirement' would not be that far off.... I find it hard to be encouraging. What are some hopeful things to say?

With record amounts of money going into the NHS over the last five years (increases in your national insurance, etc) , should we the loyal taxpayers still support the nhs even though it can't manage it's own finanical affairs very well. Should we keep on pouring pound after pound into the service and not get value for money. Having been a user of the service and a supporter in the past, is the general public starting to get tired of the lame excuses year after year of financial problems and poor service?

It was about a group of kids at school who get a new teacher. And the theme is really "Orwellian" , It was a very anti-socialism book. Anyways i guess the country got taken over and the socialists take over the school system and basically start brain washing these children. They make them take down the flag, stop saying the pledge of allegiance and so on. Has anyone read this book? I remember there was one kid that just wouldnt let go and kept questioning everything because his dad was some big general and he was the only child that was asking questions, and questioning what these people were doing. Please people I loved this book and I want to add it to my collection.

Why do you think our forefathers separated Church and State?

Washington's administration even negotiated a treaty with the Muslim rulers of north Africa that stated explicitly that the United States was not founded on Christianity. The pact, known as the Treaty with Tripoli, was approved unanimously by the Senate in 1797, under the administration of John Adams. Article 11 of the treaty states, "[T]he government of the United States is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion…."

Because this was unanimously approved by the Senate in 1797, this is the law of the land. The United States is not a Christian Nation, and it is not an Atheist Nation. There is no Official Religion.
