We recently adopted a dog from the Humane Society that is being treated for Heart-worm. She has slight coughing and sneezing but not much. Her coughing is more noticeable if she has exerted herself too much such as running/playing with child. We were told that she needed to rest to get over it and will also have a follow-up shot for Heart-worm in 2 weeks. I was wondering if it is harmful for her to be outside for an extended period of 2-3 hours a day on an open patio with fenced in yard. I am at home 24-7, however, there are times that I need to run errands and hate to leave her cooped up inside the house. Is it harmful for a dog that is being treated for Heart-worm as long as the temperature outside is moderate (not too cold, not too hot -- An even 65-70 degrees). She seems to like the coolness of the cement to lay on and loves the fresh air and breeze. As long as a child is not outside to play with her, she just lays down and enjoys herself.
Any thoughts on Heart-worm?

Bill Murray's Peter Venkman character sings to Dan Aykroyd 'For Whatever reasons Ray... Call it fate, call it luck, call it karma' with regards to them being thrown out of university. The films music seems to accompany him. Is this a reference to something, a real song from a musical, or just a cheeky little curveball? Or did I imagine the whole thing?

I am 22 years old and decided the other day that I wanted to take up knitting. Just something I can do to pass the time and pass on to my future children. I was just wondering if you knew of any books/websites that may help me learn faster. I already picked up the basics in a few hours but I'm still a ways away from being great at it. My knits aren't quite uniform yet but they are getting there. If you know of any easy beginners patterns or a book that might help I'd really appreciate it. THANKS!!!

I go to a very diverse university, and it seems ethnic groups tend to 'keep to themselves' making the university extremely cliquish. I'm starting to doubt claims that multiculturalism is necessarily a unifying thing and tends to divide people.

I work with a dentis who will say "God Bless" to patients when she dismisses them. It's like her way of saying "Take Care". I feel this is inappropriate in a business situation in todays world. What do you think? What would your reaction be?

I was told this is a gray area and if no one has complained, it doesn't need to be addressed. My take on it is, why allow it to continue if it may offend someone? I would rather be proactive rather than reactive.
