If christianity isnt about "good works" then what is it about?

Ok I have always had a problem with this aspect of christianity... people say that even if you are the embodiment of goodness in your life on earth.. you help all sorts of people etc do good things, never do anything bad... you will still go to hell if you dont believe in jesus/god. According to one answerer of a question about that.... and I quote..
People's "good works"are like filthy rags to God.
Only accepting Jesus will get you in (Romans 10,Rev 18-22,John 3).

If that is true then whats the point of being christian?? If you dont have to do anything good, you dont have to care about anything all you have to do is accept god, jesus whatever and you are saved and will go to heaven when you die. What is the point of that? makes no sense to me.. isnt life about being good? whats the point in worshipping something that doesnt even care how much good you do, and wont reward you for it... and only cares about just how much you care about them..everything else is just "filthy rags"

i hate waiting on church people!!!?

ok here is my story. i waited tables for almost 8 years and i always hated working on sunday because of the CHURCH PEOPLE. they were always rude and cheap. they have a huge
a ss chip on their shoulder that saids"look at me i went to church today, i'm important!"
and what's worse, alot of them would not even tip us. instead they would give us a pamplet about jesus. I CAN'T PAY MY RENT WITH A FREAKIN PAMPLET!!!.
anyway i wonder how they would feel if they got a pamplet on payday instead of a pay check.
have any others servers out there experience this???

everytime i open a page i get internet explorer can not display page?

i'm running windows xp i could get online like yahoo,myspace etc. but when i try to open a link within yahoo or myspace it tell me internet explorer has encounted a problem or this page can not be displayed help i have tried everything even redownloading explorer 7 again doesn't work i have done everything i have only had this laptop for 1 month i have a compaq presario v6000 help

Is Jergens All Purpose Face cream good?

I was planning to buy this at the store.It is very reasonably priced,hence left me wondering! Do you think it would be used as a night cream.I have a combination skin.If it is not too good for face.How about using it on the body.It seemed to have a good moisture content?
