I always wonder about this too. Why do people love and worship a God that killed the completely innocent first born sons of Egypt just to prove a point to one man?

Well if God is the creator of morality then God chooses what is right and wrong, therefore the ten commandments give rules from God but if God would have instead said that stealing is okay then people would not think that stealing is bad and everyone would do it. So if God is the creator of the rules, then the rules technically don't apply to Him because God can change the rules to make them as God sees fit.

How do you know someone didn't tell him. Considering He's a big huge diety, I highly doubt someone would have to drop some knowledge on Him. Ever hear the phrase "Don't kill the messenger?". Just imagine if you had to tell God some bad news. Not a fun job, huh?

Hey man, LISTEN. People since the day of Adams CHILDREN have been KILLING eachother RIGHT UNDER GOD'S NOSE! Remember CAINE man? God came to him asking him why Able's soul cried out. Cain had killed Able out of Jealousy. It STILL goes on TODAY!
Listen man, really, I know how you feel about death. It's really difficult to understand why someone's loved one would have to depart. I KNOW! WHEN MY AUNT DIED, I WENT INTO A TAIL SPIN! FOR 18 YEARS!! And took the DEPRESSION ON TIL JUST 2 YEARS AGO!! IT's a REAL MONSTER to GRASP!!
I'll share with you what the Word says, and what a friend told me that REALLY HELPED ME!! 22 YEARS AFTER the fact!
The Bible says, "Job 7:1
Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling?" And also, "Ecclesiastes 3:1
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

9 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?

10 I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.

11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

Jesus loves you man. He wants to be a part of your life. Pray to receive Him. Read Revelation 3:20. He is very personal to me, and He wants to be to you, also.

I think He's really the bad guy and the real God isn't even a human-like character. More of a combination of theories. He just says He's God and he's the good guy to see who he can fool!

In those days of plagues and smiting, God didn't seem like the kind of guy you'd wanna jerk around. People were probably like 'Kay, God, you wanna kill those kids, you go right ahead, big guy!'

Why didn't the Pharaoh let the Israelites go instead of killing the Israelite's children over and over again? They were warned.

He wouldn't have listened. The good news is - ever since Jesus took over the family business, God has effectively become an absentee landlord. Good times.
