Elijah, in order to demonstrate that Yahweh was more powerful then Baah, proposed a simple test. Two alters, one for Baal, one for Yahweh. Both would include a blood sacrifice. Whichever God struck fire down from the Heavens first, to light the sacrifice, would win.

Yahweh won.

I would like to propose a similar contest, but between Yahweh and the Flying Spaghetti Monster. But instead of a blood sacrifice of a cow, the sacrifice would be one of pasta.

A house built on the sea shore in the sand will erode by the impact of the waves of the sea and eventually fall. A “super power” which focuses on “power over the world – a foreign policy” will eventually fail unless it diverts its’ attention to “its people” to strengthen its house. That’s why I believe that a “super power” should not be just a nation, a machine of military, government, its’ economy, and its’ influence abroad.
Today it should concentrate in strengthening and empowering its’ people to stand as a strong house on the shore of the sea of the world.

Why is that when you buy flowers from local grocery store they are about $10-$15 dozen, and if you wanna buy online/florist they are about $50 and up...what is the difference? or just rip off?

I need a name for my new dog.

Some details:
It's a toy fox terrier - we're talking a tiny dog. It will only be about 8 pounds when fully grown.

It's a girl.
I don't want a really girly name. No fi fi or priscilla or anything like that...

It's mostly white with light brown patches and a brown head.

I'd like something unique or fun. If it was a boy, I'd love to name it Goliath or something ironic like that. Unfortunately, it's a girl, so I feel kind of limited...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

I'm curious as someone said to me yesterday that it wasn't Yankee Doodle Dandy which is what I thought it was. (maybe from some old US films?) I've heard the star spangled song played at some overseas sporting events - and wonder if that is their song??

I want to take admission in us universities for ms(august/September 2007).I have still not given my gre and toefl. But the deadlines are approaching faster so what I want to do is send my supporting documents like (transcripts,letter of recommendation,SOP ,etc) before deadlines and send my toefl and gre scores later so that I will be considered strongly for getting admission rather than waiting for results to come and then send everything after deadline.

My son is not normally a trouble maker and is a good student, well behaved, and well mannered. However he did seem to get himself into a pickle. In September (11 years old at the time) he was hanging out with two neighborhood boys who were 14. The friendship did not last long because I didn't like the behavior of the older boys so I stopped allowing my son to hang around with them.

Well, I just found out today, that while they were hanging out together there was incident where the older boys broke the door to a vacant building that had just been badly damaged by a flood. The three of them went into the building and there were items in the building that belonged to the owner. The three of them took some cans of soda that they had found and left the building. According to my son, (he wasn't lying, I can tell when he lies to me) he did not break the door but he did say he is guilty of going into the building and taking the sodas.

I'm in high school, and I passed biology in 9th grade with As both semesters. I passed Chemistry Honors with As both semesters (and it was my favorite class so far). I took Biology AP as a junior and got Bs both semesters. Will biochemistry kill me? I heard its the hardest major after law.
