There are some people who constantly ponder the meaning of life. Why? Why do some people assume that there's a meaning to life? If anything, it's rather egotistical for us to assume that we're on earth to serve a purpose. Has it ever occurred to some people that perhaps we're on earth just because our species evolved to the state it's in and that it was simply because the conditions were conducive to it?

I want to build a new home near our current home. We have over five acres in this plot and the county will allow me to do this and retain the current dwelling as a guest house. How did you arrange your financing, if you have done this? I am at a loss here. One previous house I just bought, we are buying this one (but have 75%equity already) and the one I built years ago was done with the contractors building loan on my land. So, I haven't a good idea about the proper way to set this up and proceed.

I took my 5-year old miniature schnauzer into the vet 2 weeks ago in order to get his teeth checked. He told me that my dog should get a cleaning, but that I should wait for a couple of months until they have a discount on that procedure. Following his advice, I decided to wait. Yesterday my dog's mouth started emmitting a putrid odor, so, I took him back to the vet this morning. A different vet, at the same clinic, is now telling me that he has a massive infection in his teeth and gums and that he may need to have up to 4 of his teeth pulled! Should the vet have recognized this and at least told me that this was a possibility during the first visit? Should I hold this clinic responsible?, and, if so, what should I do?

Recently I joined an online book club. The first book that has been assigned for everyone to read is not available in any library and must be purchased. I am having financial problems, and even though the book is not too expensive, I know if I have to keep buying books then the cost will all add up and compared to bills, groceries, etc. this book club is not a priority. I've wanted to join a book club for a long time now and now that I finally have it feels like I should wait another little while. One of the other members of the book club said if cost of a book is a problem, then to ask her about it and maybe she can arrange something but I'm embarrassed to keep asking her for help everytime I can't afford a book. What should I do?
