Some say so, but the evidence seems to be unclear. They certainly KNEW each other -- Vespucci worked as the Medici's agent in Seville for a man who helped to finance Columbus's voyages. Also, Columbus mentions and commends Vespucci as a reliable man in a l1505 etter to his own son. Beyond this, most seems to be speculation.
