There are some people who constantly ponder the meaning of life. Why? Why do some people assume that there's a meaning to life? If anything, it's rather egotistical for us to assume that we're on earth to serve a purpose. Has it ever occurred to some people that perhaps we're on earth just because our species evolved to the state it's in and that it was simply because the conditions were conducive to it?

Applause, applause. THANK YOU!

That type of Q is over done here, and I ask often "WHY" must life be analyzed as opposed to LIVED.

Good on ya. Certainly the most enlightened "GET IT" Q I've seen here this morning.

Well, anyway you look at it life is pretty amazing. We somehow came from inanimate matters to be here today, these complex bodies which experience the world through a myriad of sound, colors, smells and sensations. Doesn't seem to me like anything to denigrate. Perhaps these people are looking for the wrong thing when they're seeking some sort of grand scheme to participate in, but how could such uniqueness and complexity be meaningless?
In a sense, I think life has just as much meaning as we're willing to give it, and just as much value as we're willing to accord to our experiences.

Wont you not like it that we serve a deeper purpose, each one of us? Dont you think we are not worthy of existence? Really, I find youre question really compelling, in both a positive and negative manner. You challenege me. Now here I am, trying to answer that question. Tyring to assess a deeper reason. Sometimes i have those thoughts. Why cant we just live, and ditch all reasons/logic/meaning. Then it would be more easy and detachable to die. Less dramatic. Less pain. But we arent human - called on that manner if we dont dare defy and question (and hell raise over!) every bit of matter that we see.

Well you'd like to think there's a point to all this you're going through. It seems so great after all, from our vantage point. If everyone truly believed their lives had no meaning, I doubt they'd find the motivation to do great things. Being positive is much better than being depressed and hopeless.

that would mean that something came from nothing, which is impossible, because nothing comes from nothing.

And if it is random, how can there be set laws of physics and chemistry? Randomness is the opposite of constancy.

Why do you think there's no meaning to life?

I have a meaning but I can't tell it to you because it's each person's job to figure that out for themselves.

It's your life; so either attach your particular "meaning" to it or be content with your particular interpretation.

Each person must find their own motivation and explanation for life.

Maybe they are not contented with just living life?

Everything in life has a reasoning to it, whether it's deep and meaningful or sweet and simple.
