This may not help or be exactly what you want, but these were the steps I required of my sixth graders when we studied Scientific method.
Title.....The Effect of temperature on the Germination of Wheat Seeds NOT Wheat seeds.
Problem... I would like to know the optimum time to plant wheat seeds in our area
Hypothesis. Given an equal amount of water I think since Wheat is planted in the fall, The seeds in the refrigerator will sprout first.
( they do not sprout first the ones in the cabinet sprout first, but a Hypothesis is an educated guess. Do not change or maniplate any thing just to prove your Hypothesis. Your Hypothesis must be proven or disproven...It makes no difference in your grade if you disprove your Hypothesis.
A Materials list- List everything you need to do the project inclluding writing instruments scissors tape baggies etc.
Procedure- this is a step by step instruction of what needs to be done. I told my kids to write it so that a 2nd grader could read the instructions and copy your project step by step.

Results.... A day by day hour by hour record of what happens.. this is usually in chart form
Cool Seeds................................................. Warm Seeds
day..

Be sure to list any result including the fact that nothing happened or was observed

Conclusion;;;;I learned that my Hypothesis was wrong . the seeds in the cabinet sprouted before the seeds in the Refrigerator. Although Wheat may grow in the winter and in temperatures above 30 degrees. The soil temperature must be warm enought to sprout the seeds quickly...

I hope this helps

the scientific method is an emergent process and cannot be broken down into steps. perhaps a flow chart would be sufficient. (the order of some of the steps is interchangeable) That being said, go look it up somewhere. Wikipedia will exhaustively detail ideas like this.

sweetheart.. chemistry is a waste of life
but i'll try my best to remember for you

1. state the problem
2. form a hypothesis
and somewhere in between there... theres a bunch of junk...
6. conclusion
