why do people in the states call white people 'white' people, but black people 'african americans?' it doesnt make any sense.

why be pc and call black people 'afro american' and then go and call a white guy a white guy?

what about south african africans? white? afro american?

What things and characteristics do you all share. I have one sister and one brother and these are the things we have in commom

good :smart (A students, escpeccialy my sister we probably all have high IQs, but hers are probably WAY above normal) like/good in math, and high motabolism (but although this is nice for my sis and I, sometimes I feel sorry for my brother who is a bit too skinny for a guy, hopefully he will fill out now that he is no longer a teen

I posted this question last night regarding the server and the client. But I am not sure how to deal with the and/or. as I want to cover three situation in one sentence. Beause there are three situations.

both the server and the client are not avaiable.
either the server or the client is not available.

(The parties in the sentence are known to the reader.)

•When the server and/or the client are found to be unavailable, both parties shall take appropriate action to make the server and/or client available again as soon as possible.

•If after initial investigations into the unavailability of the server and/or the client, both parties agree that it is not likely to make the server and/or the client available again in 5 hours, the boss that should be informed immediately.

I try to use one sentence to deal with these three situations.

Sometimes my daughter upsets me, i don't know if her behavior is normal and if i am reacting like a normal stay at home mom. She has so much energy, sometimes i think she is going to hurt herself by running into a wall or something. she tries to pick up huge objects, and climbs on everything. As well, she is never calm enough for a bed time story or to be rocked (like so many parents guides suggest you do before bed). I guess what i read in parenting guides makes being a parent seem so easy, but its not. Am I alone with these feelings?

Hi, I need serious advice. The problem is that I‘m 32 years old and I‘m self employed and I was studying law but got failed in exams. Now I dont have courage to tell my parents about it. I've been researching pedophilia on the Internet so that I can write an essay or a book about it. I've been reading about NAMBLA (North American Man Boy Love Association) as well as the Dutch Pedophile Association among others. I've been to many message boards and forums where pedophiles meet and talk about the "childlove movement." I have noticed that many of these pedophiles, although they like children, do not want to sexually abuse them or harm them in any way.

Suppose I know someone who admitted to me that he or she is a pedophile, should I report this person into the police or shouldn't I? If a person is a pedophile does that mean he or she is dangerous?

I know, ironic! My ex-boyfriend is in love with my sister (who is about a year younger than me). She's very pretty and nicer than me, whereas I'm not unattractive but sarcastic. She's one of those girls that you see in movies, the goody ones that are impossible to get, but every guy wants. I am totally in love with one of my families friend's son's who lives in Italy(he is Italian), we have known each other since I can remember and my parent's have sent me to stay with his family every summer in Italy since I was 12, and when I go there all me and him do is hang out together(and hook up). He is the sweetest guy I have ever met and I love him, I have no clue what to do. He keeps saying I should just move to Italy and stay with him, but I don't know if I should since I am in my first year of college, but we love each other so much I am really thinking about it.


Questions:
-Should I move to Italy and stay with him ?
-Do long distance relationships ever work ?

-I am 18, he is 19
-I see him every summer and sometimes during the holidays
-I talk to him all the time on the phone and computer
-I am Italian/German/French(My mother is from France, My Grandmother is from Italy, and my Dad is German/Italian from America)
