Granted most of the time shipments are complete and intact, however, UPS, FedEx and the rest simply care more about getting to the next stop on their route. Everyone should always tell the guy to put his electronic signature machine aside and wait while we empty the box and make sure it is all there. If they don't have the patience to wait, if their first action is handing over the clipboard, if their first action is not helping you verify that all the contents are in the box, then their business practices are bad. It's for everyone's good. I suppose they would drive even faster to make up for time lost at each stop standing there waiting for the receiving person putting them through this but honestly, it's the best way. They should not expect people to automatically sign first just so they can be on their way and leave us with a package we signed for that we didn't confirm was complete before signing. I think this should be a regulation. What do all of you think?
