Looking for the story/poem where the animals at midnight on Christmas eve have the ability to speak?

A few years ago I read a charming story/poem that on Christmas Eve at midnight barnyard animals had the ability speak for an hour.

Should I buy a present?

So, I've been working in my office for 6 months. Our Christmas party is tomorrow. We did the whole Secret Santa thing, but some people are buying other people presents as well.

My boss and I were casual friends before working together, but have never exchanged presents. Should I get him a gift? Should I get the other couple of people in my department a gift?

Will it look bad if I don't get people at lease a little something? I don't want it to seem like I"m not a team player, but I also don't want to seem like Daddy Warbucks.

Scones, How should they be cooked?

Can someone tell me should scones hard like trying to saw a stone with a knife, or soft and flakey like bread? The store behind the question is that we have this cafe company here in the states called Panera Bread Co. I've been to three different locations and tried three different types or flavor of scones. And each one of them was hard as aand dry as a rock. I didn't know if they were suppose to be that away or they just way over baked the scones. I'm just a crazy American who loves to try new foods, if all scones are like this I willn't be trying them again.
