Uniforms eliminate any concern about social status, or trends. Everyone is the same.
Good idea - since kids can be cruel to one another.

Uniforms are a win, win. First for safety reasons school officials can easily identify non-students. Second, you won't need to take hours deciding on what to wear and can now spend more time concentrating in class rather than checking out how someone is dressed. Third,as previously stated the whole status thing, and finally,saves $$$$$!!!!!

I think that a school dress code is a good thing. I went to a private school for five or six years, and they required a dress code. Usually the clothes for a dress code are easy to get and fairly cheap. A dress code keeps all of the students equal, and you don't have to worry about other students being disruptive or offensive with their clothes. Another benefit to a dress code is that you don't have to worry about what you are going to wear.

I like uniforms; from a parent's perspective, it is less expensive to have uniforms because you only need to buy a few of the "in" styles for weekend wear rather than 10 or more for weekday and weekend wear; from a teacher's point of view, the students seem better behaved because there isn't any discrimination because of clothes;

I never wore uniforms. But my sister does. She seems to be okay with it. Because they have to have their school logo, it does not save a ton of money. It does save a little though. It also saves time in the morning because she only has a small selection to choose from. Its also good because no one can criticize anyone else about looks, and less distraction. Uniforms in school is a definite equalizer. You can also dress them up with your jewelry, shoes, or bags to keep a hint of individuality.

I'm all for it. It has a leveling effect on the students, because no one is showing off as much, and it helps cut down on distractions from people wearing sexually suggestive clothes. Plus in bad neighborhoods it eliminates the problem of gang colors.

I have had uniforms before and I hated it. I think uniforms don't allow people to express themselves. Dress code is important but its ok for people not to look exactly the same.
