I am thinking of starting a pension again,i have 15 years worth already. But i`m not sure if its better to do an ISA...the reason being this.
I have been told that when you are elegible to receive a state pension you are means tested,so really whats the point in saving if the goverment take off what you have saved via your personnel pension. This to me does not seem fair at all.

does this really happen? or is it just talk

I am divorced with 2 children. My ex-husband called the other day to tell me that the woman he is married to got custody of her 2 children from her previous marriage. My ex-husband proceeds to tell me that he wants the child support he pays our children lowered due to the fact he is now raising her children with her. Can my ex-husband get our children's child support lowered because he now has step-children to take care of? We both live in Texas if this helps get an answer and our divorce was in Texas as well.....

My partner wants to call our daughter Edam after the town in the Netherlands. I think it is silly because the name is also used for a cheese.
I want to call the child Bazalgette after Sir Joseph Bazalgette the engineer who helped save London from Cholera epidemics in the nineteenth century. My partener likes Bazalgette but still wants to call our daughter Edam.
I don't want to give the child two first names. Especially because Bazalgette is hard to spell.
So should I give in and name the baby Edam or just call her Bazalgette anyway?

Won't a lot of people be thinking ? : Yep . We should have invested more effort in science instead of religion because , when god destroys the planet we could have gone to colonies on other worlds . God provides the questions , while science provides the answers .

I didn't know where I should ask this question, so I'm asking it here... We had a birth and a death in our family yesterday. The baby was born a couple of weeks early and even though my Uncle's death was expected, the doctors thought it would be at least a few days or maybe even weeks. But both events happened within hours of each other. I feel weird for even asking this, but does anyone think that this happened on the same day for a reason, because I kind of think that it did. Any serious input would be very appreciated...

If any of us were born in another place and time it would be hard for you to convince me that it's for a purpose-if I was a jew born in the u.s.-if I lived again and was born into an african tribe-Who's to say that faith has it' reasons for you being apart of whatever religon your born into-culture is the real birthplace of religon!Christians say that there is a reason for everything including were we live and what we worship-but if I was born into a muslim community does that mean i'm less of a human for my beliefs-My point is that different cultures over our history has developed religon, as we evolved-we begin to think about life after death, and a creator of somekind-Why not be agnostic(to me we all are anyway) p.s. I asked another question the other day and a kid said that humans have been on earth 7000 years, please do not say things like that without searching your history books-They have found human remains from as long ago as 250,000 years!!!!
