Certain aspects of Melanie’s law are appalling and I am absolutely fed up with it. Yes, the death of Melanie and other innocent victims is not a joke. However, OUI is not a crime committed w/ criminal or malicious intent either. The woman that killed Melanie is herself a mother and I can't imagine the negative impact this has had on her family, in addition to the guilt that she must forever live with. Does anybody really believe that she woke up one morning and decided to run over and kill a little girl? There are no winners is situations like this. I believe this law is all about anger and revenge on the side of Melanie's grandfather and MADD, while the politicians use it for votes....they are like toddlers in a sandbox where an “eye for and eye” is the only way they know how to play. I would like to believe that we live in a society that wants to do what is right regardless of political designation. This shouldn’t be the political issue it has become and now they have Question #1 riding on it. It’s abundantly clear that this is serving a larger, personal agenda. This is about getting even and although I do recognize that lives have been changed forever due to the death of loved ones maybe they should seek some other arena to grieve in….a therapist office perhaps, if still years after the fact they are out to force otherwise good people to stand in their shoes by making and enforcing laws that can destroy families the same way that the crime can. Is anybody following me here? These laws make it impossible for drunk drivers with families, children, jobs, and responsibilities to show up and do what they need to do to keep a family unit together. How is this justice? Like I said an "eye for and eye". Am I the only one in this state who has a problem with this? Please respond to: againstthelaw_m@yahoo.com

I believe that together we can change this.

What's the worst, most idiotic dating advice you've ever read in a magazine?

Thair trying to ban abortion in SD cuz they say it hurts women, But what about all the women it saves thair lifes from problems. Like if I got raped I would not want to have that child cuz it was conceved in the wrong way. I have 2 kids and love them both very much. So Im not a child hater. I just think a women and her husband or boyfriend should decide and not the docter or the state that diesnt even know them. Please give me your thoughts on it and any websites or resorses on it. I believe in a vioce and a choise.

from all the stories I've heard, so many people lie about havign a higher education and they put it on their resume and they end up getting a great job, since most of the employers don't bother to check with the school. What do you think? would you do something like that? I don't mean applying for a plastic surgeon job, and screwing it up. I mean the jobs in entertainment, travel, retail industries.....

You are part of a search-and-rescue mission that has been called out to look for a lost explorer. You've found the missing explorer, but you're separated from him by a 200 m high cliff and a 30 m wide raging river. To save his life, you need to get a 4.4 kg package of emergency supplies across the river. Unfortunately, you can't throw the package hard enough to make it across. Fortunately, you happen to have a 1.8 kg rocket intended for launching flares. Improvising quickly, you attach a sharpened stick to the front of the rocket, so that is will impale itself into the package of supplies, then fire the rocket at ground level toward the supplies. What minimum speed must the rocket have just before impact in order to save the explorer's life?

I know the rocket needs to travel 202.237 m (the hypotenuse of the triangle). So d=202.237. I am lost however, where to go from there.

Any ideas?

Thanks

what i mean is that say someone is arrested, but as court cases take a while to process, where does the suspect go in the meantime? they can't let him get away, so do they just keep him hanging out in a cell?

ok here is the situation i am a married man with 1 son with my wife and a son from a previous relationship who is 5 who i pay child support for. Currently i pay 786 per month. Of course this is a high payment which has in turn left me struggling to pay my mortgage. i do amke a good living but like i said my high child support make it nearly impossible to make ends meet. I am in no way trying to get out of child support but i realize recently in order to meet these other financial obligations i am going to take on another ft job. Also that will limit my son time to come over here which as of now i get him every other weekend but of course if i get another job that would probaly be less. My son mother constantly makes plans on my weekends so honestly she showing time with his father is not at all important. so my question is shall i just get the other job to meet ends meet or stay with the current situation . be advised on the weekends he comes he sees my wife more than me
