I may be taking a backpacking trip overseas and am wondering what would be the best type of laptop to take with me. I'd like to keep it around $1000 and no larger than a 14.1 screen:

Models I'm considering:

Lenovo ThinkPad z61t (expensive)
Lenovo V100 (12 in screen may be too small. durable?)
TwinLab Durabook (doesn't seem to have very good specs)
Toshiba Satellite U200 series (durability features but keboard seems mushy)
HP Pavillion DVD212US (excellent specs but concerned about durability)

Any other models you recommend?

I live in California if there California laws to help me. I got the gift certificate from my mom which she got it from her workplace. The restarunt has recently changed owners. It has no expiration date, not to mention a date it was issued so it cant expire. It is in the same location and still is called by the same name as if it never changed owners. Under law do they have to accept it? What are my options? I will even call the BBB monday to see what they can do.

Hmm...actually I'm eye-ing on two guys at the same time... Both are cool! Guy A is intellectually more attractive, Guy B is physically + intellectually more attractive.

I was told Guy A has a girlfriend, but he never mentioned anything about the girlfriend whenever we have lunch together. So, should I ask to clarify? Will my question indicate that I'm interested in him?? By the way, if he says he has no gf, what should I do? And, what can I do?

For Guy B, so far I only can smile at him whenever we see each other. Any suggestions for further actions I can take? I always feel like hugging him whenever looking at him from the back. Ooo... I like this guy, man! But so far, except his name, I know nothing about him...

Hi There,

My friend and I are going to China for the Canton Fair (the second bit, from 25th October).

We are flying to Beijing on the 17th Oct, and coming back from HK on the 28th. The last 3-4 days will be spent at the fair, before flying out of HK. Any ideas on how we should arrange our trip to get the most of our time in China? Where should we go, what should we do before we get to the fair on 24th Oct? We are on a budget, and would like to travel round a bit. How are the trains? When / where shall we book accommodation? ANY HELP WELCOME

I hate people who do one night stands. How come they cannot realize that they can just find their lifelong partner and so a unlimited night stands (sex every night) with their soulmate (wife/husband) without worrying about being pregnant after getting the tubes tied or the vas deferens being cut. Maybe they just cannot find anyone to like them so they have to do one night stands. I hate people who are like that.
