its the most beautiful place in the world.
u cant imagine how amazing it is to be there, to witness the existence of one of the world's seven miracles the great pyramids, ride camels and pure Arabian horses, seeing the sphinx (abul hul) and feel the spirit of the ancient Pharaohs.
ur most welcome to come here and visit Egypt, i guarantee u wont regret it:)

Yes I've been twice, try not to let those camel guys swindle you out of a lot of money. They already charge americans 7 x's more than anyone else (considering you are american). You should go soon, and not one day, it's actually pretty cheap. I stayed at the Windsor in Cairo, it's very old and has a british feeling. After you visit the pyramids you should check out the Mena House Hotel which is walking distance. Definitely go to Dahab in the sanai, and do a tour of the oasis in the desert. Try to look for an adventure off the beaten path of all the tourists, that's what makes travelling fun!

I am a westerner lucky enough to live in Egypt.
The pyramids are really not what you expect and are full of tourists. There is even a Pizza Hut at the base of the Pyramids. Although they are an awesome sight it does not compare to Luxor and the Valley of the Kings.

Yes in 1953/4 as a soldier but didn't get around to visiting the Pyramids as we were quite busy guarding the Treaty Road

i'm sorry but the pyramids are a big let down.... you luk at the pyramids an wow fantastic then turn round and oh my god theres shops and high rise flats built around them they hav ruined them completely. i suggest a weeks cruise down the nile believe me ya'l see more history than jus cin the pyramids. the nile is amazing an all the places ya visit on yr way down the nile are out of this world. xxx

I did acouple years ago. It was amazing...I never imagined the pyramids to be soo massive. The sphinx was beautiful...but we couldn't go inside because of the humidity. It was 100' + that day. I highly reccomend the horse carriage ride up and around there. The guides are funny and get you cold drinks.

yeah, a couple of months ago i've been to Giza to see the pyramids. they are beautiful but honestly i dunno why i wasnt that impressed. maybe because i read about it alot, seen documentaries about how they were built.... to tell the truth i stood speechless infront of Petra in Jordan.
if you had the chance, go to Giza and see the pyramids yourself and hopefully you'll enjoy it.
good luck
