Have spent enough time in the local Yahoo romance chat rooms to know that most people who spend much time in there either make their money from sex or have serious mental problems. Not a good environment to meet decent, nice people. Bars & clubs, same deal. Library (best place to meet nerds, right?) people don't even make eye contact. Coffee shops, same. Book stores, same. Outdoor meetings or get-togethers (at parks or in city centers), mostly drug-abusing freaks. Volunteer opportunities are an idea, but aren't the majority of volunteers retired?? How to find the 23-35 yr old age group, in a non-threatening, safe social environment? Tried church singles groups, mostly older or undesirable people there too. Tried support groups, mostly people who focus too much on their problems and who like to dump their problems on other people. Tried saying hi to neighbors, if they even say hi back they say it in a way that makes it clear they don't want to talk. Any new ideas??

I went to starbucks recently & ordered an ice coffe with milk. The cashier says "Oh you mean a Cafe Con Leche..." I said no I mean an ice coffee with milk.... Then she said oh well thats what its called. Then I said no - I live in the United States, I'm not bi-lingual. I speak English. So with attitude she said, well do you want your cafe con leche or not, so I just walked out...... Am I wrong for feeling insulted?

There is this guy at work that I thought was cute. When I first saw him, I couldn't help but stare at him. It wasn't a creepy stare, OK, but a long gaze. Anyway, I don't know how it came off, but I did feel embarrased by it so I started to ignore him thereafter. Everytime we passed by the hall, I acted as though he wasn't there. It's strange though despite the fact I ignore him, he seems to act nervous around me. He consciously avoids eye contact with me when I pass by him. People have told me I'm cute and pretty, and that it can be intimidating towards some guys. Is he just trying to tell me he's not interested? Or he is just shy? I haven't actually talked to the guy and can't think of a reasonable way to approach him. I wish I could read minds.....

The Coach, who has been running Raw for some time, has challenged DX to run the show. DX ran him out of the building and owned the program. In a humorous twist, they made the Spirit Squad wear cheerleading uniforms (since they are geeky gay cheerleaders). They made Spirit Squad member Nick lose the match to the legendary Sgt. Slaughter with their distraction os showing him a thong panty that he forgot to wear. So how did you enjoy the DX-ran show? Was it good or bad? If only we could all learn to act like them, even if we don't want to live like them, the world would be a much better place to live in. I think it takes more courage to forgive than to get mad and hate. Can you attend the funeral of someone who killed one of your own? Can you forgive a person who killed one of your own? I don't think I can. My hats off to the Amish. I heard that they are collecting for the widow and children of the killer. That is raw courage.

I began temping at a company several months ago. I work alongside an employee there who has been on board for 11 years.
He does his work, but most times I've been told that when I do things on the job, they're mostly things he should be doing......


And he'll get demanding over it. To him, from what I've been told, there has always been a problem between him and the temps that have worked there. Basically, we're pieces of s*it to the guy. At any rate, he has practically no personality, is very serious all the time and hardly talks to people that work in the company. He tries to be polite, but it always sounds contrived and forced.

He also doesn't come off as sincere. If you ever say something to him that he doesn't agree with, he'll threaten to go to the boss or hiring manager. He's done it in the past.

We have to drive our car down the road for some pickups several times a day. But he (not even a boss) contests this and will look at you with a
