My wife and I are currently locked into our jobs until 2012 and we want out. Is there anything that we can do now that would start us off in real estate investing when the time comes? We want to be able to do the fixer-upper work ourselves, mostly because we love doing the handy work. We both have average credit ratings, in the low 600s, and we don't have a whole lot of equity in our current house to bother with. Does anyone have advice that can help us get started? Thanks.

continuing my other question... through our two year relationship we have been through so much. we have tried to get married three times but money has always been an issue and when we did have the money he thought we could use it on something better. The only time he will even touch is when he wants sex. but it's not so easy to leave. i have been raising his son for two years and the babys mon isn't in the picture. don't get my wrong we have our good times but i don't know where i stand anymore? if he still loves me? does he still want to marry me? he's the only guy i have been with who hasn't hit me or been on drugs and i hate being alone.

My 2000 Chevrolet Malibu LS which I have owned since 2001 has over 129,000 miles on it. I have routine maintenance (oil, brakes, belts, tires, etc) done when needed. I have no problem with it so far, other than a couple of computer glitches (one of which was a recall--turn signal problem) which happened around 40,000 miles, and it was fixed on warranty. I recently had the timing belt replaced, and the alternator checks out as good. The mileage is a little less than what it was, but still over 20 miles per gallon. Anybody out there own a Malibu with 200,000+ miles on it? I really like this car, and I hope it lasts a while longer.
