Little Tommy was doing very badly in math. His parents had tried everything: tutors, flash cards, special learning centers. In a last-ditch effort, they took Tommy and enrolled him in the local Catholic school.

After the first day, Little Tommy came home with a very serious look on his face. He didn't kiss his mother hello. Instead, he went straight to his room and started studying.

His mother was amazed.

She called him to dinner. To her shock, the minute he was done he marched back to his room without a word and in no time he was back hitting the books as hard as before.

This went on for some time, day after day while his mother tried to understand what made all the difference.

Finally, Little Tommy brought home his report card. He quietly laid it on the table and went up to his room and hit the books.

With great trepidation, his mom looked at it. To her surprise, little Tommy got an A in math.

She could no longer hold her curiosity. She went to his room and said, "Son, what was it? Was it the nuns?"

Little Tommy looked at her and shook his head, "No!"

"Well, then," she asked, "was it the books, the discipline, the structure, the uniforms? WHAT was it?"

Little Tommy looked at her and said, "Well, on the first day of school, when I saw that guy nailed to the plus sign, I knew they weren't fooling around!"

do you think it's normal to not want to be born ever again. i'm not talking about the fear of the judgement day or the whole karma thing. i just don't want to be born again 'cause i've just about had it with everything that's going on in the world & no matter how happy i'd be, i never ignore the pain and struggle of other people and it makes me depressed 'cause sometimes there's nothing you can do.

I am an architect from Central America, I married a Swiss man and moved here, at first it was hard to find work, and I was so depressed at home, for five months, at last I got a chance to do an internship at an architecture firm (and that was tough because my German is good, but not perfect, and I don't have an European diploma). Anyway at first everything was great, I've been working with an Italian architect, and he's basically my boss, on a personal level we get along great, but at work I notice that everything turns out to be my fault, even when I only make mistakes because he's so unorganized and everything has to be done in so little time. After a year I asked my boss if I could have a raise or have a normal job, and he said no.. continue my internship for a year, that I'm in this Italian's shadow.. and as much as I've pleaded to be included in the meetings, and be involved.. I'm not. And I have to deal with the Italian's constant bad mood. Should I tell my boss? We're only 7

It seems like every symptom these days, is either your getting your period, or your pregnant. Every symptom could be one or the other, making this process just the more complicated.


My stomach looks "pregnant" but i have been eating more so possibly the pouchy appearence could be from over eating and weight gain.
My stomach is Hard .. See last statement
I randomly am feeling bloated (but never feel bloated unless i have my period)
It seems like ive developed acid reflex? I ate spicy food today, and my throat has been burning all night.
Cramping, But could be ovulating or getting my period?
I am late this month but the past cupple months i have been on time
I would not be as "big" 1 month preg. so im assuming if i am, i got normal periods the last couple of months being pregnant.

I plan to get a preg. test in the morning, b/c i know my responses will indicate preg. test and to see a doctor to confirm.

Just hoping to see what people think before i go out tomorow.

I was taking a short nap and I suddenly woke up dehydrated. I went up several floors to buy a drink and when I get back my roommate asks if she woke me up a while ago. I told her, "Um no, I was sleeping. I just woke up." She was really surprised because she said I was rambling on and on about something and that I picked up my phone and started talking to someone. She said it happened about 30 minutes before I woke up. She was sure I was talking to someone because she heard them talking back to me. I don't even know who I called! Is this normal? Is there something wrong with me?

Another one got caught today, it's all over the papers. "Teenager Arrested in Computer Crime Scandal", "Hacker Arrested after Bank Tampering"... Damn kids. They're all alike. But did you, in your three-piece psychology and 1950's technobrain, ever take a look behind the eyes of the hacker? Did you ever wonder what made him tick, what forces shaped him, what may have molded him? I am a hacker, enter my world... Mine is a world that begins with school... I'm smarter than most of the other kids, this crap they teach us bores me... Damn underachiever. They're all alike. I'm in junior high or high school. I've listened to teachers explain for the fifteenth time how to reduce a fraction. I understand it. "No, Ms. Smith, I didn't show my work. I did it in my head..." Damn kid. Probably copied it. They're all alike. I made a discovery today. I found a computer. Wait a second, this is cool. It does what I want it to. If it makes a mistake, it's because I screwed it up. Not because it doesn't like me or feels threatened by me or thinks I'm a smart *** or doesn't like teaching and shouldn't be here...damn kid. All he does is play games. They're all alike. And then it happened. A door opened to a world. Rushing through the phone line like heroin through an addict's veins, an electronic pulse is sent out, a refuge from the day-to-day incompetencies is sought... a board is found. "This is it... this is where I belong..." I know everyone here... even if I've never met them, never talked to them, may never hear from them again... I know you all... Damn kid. Tying up the phone line again. They're all alike... You bet your *** we're all alike... we've been spoon-fed baby food at school when we hungered for steak... the bits of meat that you did let slip through were pre-chewed and tasteless. We've been dominated by sadists, or ignored by the apathetic. The few that had something to teach found us willing pupils, but those few are like drops of water in the desert.

This is our world now... the world of the electron and the switch, the beauty of the baud. We make use of a service already existing without paying for what could be dirt-cheap if it wasn't run by profiteering gluttons, and you call us criminals. We explore... and you call us criminals. We seek after knowledge... and you call us criminals. We exist without skin color, without nationality, without religious bias... and you call us criminals. You build atomic bombs, you wage wars, you murder, cheat, and lie to us and try to make us believe it's for our own good, yet we're the criminals.
Yes, I am a criminal. My crime is that of curiosity. My crime is that of judging people by what they say and think, not what they look like. My crime is that of outsmarting you, something that you will never forgive me for. I am a hacker, and this is my manifesto. PLEASE try to interpret this very strange dream.


so i saw this random guy i've never seen before..he looks at me holding a big clear cube in his hand says "watch this" so he pours green liquid onto the flat surface of the clube andall of a sudden an image of virgin mary started to appear. immediately i felt a very overwhelming feeling like VERY overwhelming..something ive never felt before and began to speak in tongues..i spoke in tongues only once when i was baptized with the holy spirit last year...

My bf is really angry because I was out jogging at about 10pm, when he had previously made me promise that I can be out jogging no later than 9pm. I told him at the time that I couldn't promise such a thing, but he put so much pressure on me that I gave in. I try really hard to be safe and NOT jog so late, but other times I have no choice. My energy peak is about 8 or 9 in the evening-- there is no way I can jog with the sun blaring at me, and even worse, waking up at sunrise to jog. I know I promised that I wouldn't do it, but how can I make him understand that I can't keep such a promise, but that I can take care of myself? He says he does it for my own good, and always brings out a couple of incidents that have taken place while I was out jogging at night (a guy grabbing my butt), but that's also happened to me while out in the day. Risk exists anywhere, anytime, but that doesn't mean that we are going to cease leading a normal life b/c of it. I told him this, but he wont budge. =(
