Excellent question. No, you aren't old (that I know of). There are a lot of poor spellers in the world, but quite possibly even more poor keyboardists. Some people misspell words because they type too fast or just badly.

But my question back to you is, how did this question show up under the category of Music?

There are alot of spelling errors and bad grammar on here. Some of the questions are just plain incomprehensible. Some people are just plain lazy and don't use spell check. Some are just dumb and didn't pay attention in English class. Some people are drunk or high when they type their questions. I think for alot of people English is a second language and they try their best to formulate a legitimate question in English. I know I'm not an English major so I generally only criticize errors in spelling and grammar if the question is racist, sexist, homophobic or otherwise offensive. It's an easy way to point out how ignorant they are.

I think most times some people are always rushing to answer the questions or post questions and forget there is a spell check available..As already stated some also do not have english as their first language. I don't mind too much, if i can read the question and understand it and am able to answer it i will. If not well i will go to another question.

No---you're not old. It's a combination of many things:

3) Foreigners posting their questions [Nothing against them--I'm sure they can write fluently in their language]

2) With so many people text messaging these days, they use shortcuts even when they're not on their phones.

and, the number one reason:

1) Some people just didn't pay attention in school. Grammar and spelling are becoming a lost art, I'm afraid.

By the way, did you know there's a spell check feature on this program?

I think people are just trying to give an answer and not worrying so much about its spelling. Maybe they feel as long as its readable its fine. I think using the spell checker would help, but some people are just too lazy, or careless.

Some don't know how to spell properly, or we choose not to. Maybe what you're having trouble reading is the terms that we abbreviate such as "LOL" Lots of Laughs, brb (be right back), "l8r" (later) Maybe it's the younger generations typing that you don't understand... Or how some type school as "skewl" or cool as "kewl" I choose not to alwayZ spell my words prop'ly (properly) See ? I made up my own way of abbreviating. How I spell weekend is "wk'd" Maybe older generations don't like to spell words "kewl" lol. :P

Actually, you had several fundamental mistakes in your question even though your spelling was correct.
People have different strengths and weaknesses, as well as varying degrees of interest in correct spelling, punctuation, etc.
And by the way, what does this have to do with music?

I think too many people were socially promoted in school... For such an educated society, we sure come off as a bunch of illiterate idiots, don't we? The non-native speakers do better sometimes... and I give them full credit for trying so hard.
