Ok, I have a recipe for cooking a 4lb. beef chuck roast. It says to roast for 3 hours. But.... If I have a 2-ishlb. beef chuck roast, do I cut the cooking time in half to 1 1/2 hours?

We want the best for our kids, we recently started them in music lessons, one wants to play the electric guitar and the other the keyboard, but is there any organizations that help with something like this, I know there are scholarships for college, and I am to a point of wanting to stop that is $40 a week that we just barely can afford. Our kids are 12 and 13 and they are in the band at school, but the guitar and keyboard are not instruments offered to them.
