I have a friend who received probation for a misdeamnor battery, pled guilty, received probation and then was arrested for a low level felony the following week. He is currently serving five months in county jail for the low level felony. What will the county of the first charge - the misdemeanor battery - do? He thinks he might have to serve up to a year in county jail, since the second one is a felony. I don't think so, because he had already started the probation program, which included already completing his 40 hours of community service, starting the counseling and and paying $200 of the $750 in fines. Does anyone have specific answers? I am only looking for information, not "don't do the crime if you're not ready to do the time" type response. I just want practical knowledge, not judgments. Thank you! This all occured in California, if that helps anyone answer.

It's been 10 years since I've seen him. I knew him casually through work. He was a package delivery guy and always came to me to sign for it (passing through a department of 5 other women). We developed a friendship and had some alone time outside of the job. I had a b/f he had a g/f but I always felt very comfortable with him and we had a little flirtatious thing going. We lost contact because he left his job, his cell phone, etc. I've been thinking about him and I found his address and number but afraid to call. What if he's married. I'm thinking of sending a birthday card. Is that weird or stalker like?

This after noon my daughter and 2 friends were approached by a man who exposed himself to them. It took cops almost an hour to respond to the call. That man could have reached the next town by then. Made my family wonder if they would have responded faster if we had also stated we were also calling the news station. We didn't do that, but i still wonder if that would have made them show up faster to hunt the pervert down.
