Actually Tylenol PM and the Motrin PM (PM means sleep and these meds that are market as ____PM is really no more then an antihistamine, usually benadryl combind with the brand drug. But caution folks about some misconceptions about antihistamines, just because the side effects are drowsiness with the usual dose. Don't increase the usual dose because many times it has an opposite effect in larger doses and can make you feel like banging against the walls.

Motrin and Tylenol pretty safe drugs. Tylenol does not tend to react to many other meds unless there is a liver issue. Motrin is a little more reactive in stomach issues but again is safe.
Antihistamines Mixed with either two of these drugs in normal dosing is safe. You could in theory hurt you kidney's if you took high doses of Motrin.

If this is for a child , you need to give a correct dose. Here is a link to help you do that.

i don't know, and i wasn't saying he doesn't have bad care at home, i was only saying if you are so concerned (you are showing concern by asking lots of questions on here) you should just be safe and take him/her to the ER. You said your kid is 2? please just be careful when giving you child different medications, sometimes they tell you on the box what not to use along with a certain product. The box DOES tell you that under a certain age you should consult a doctor. I hope your kid starts feeling better.

Well any good antihestimine will basically put people to sleep. So their should be no need for tylenol or motrin. But if it is needed the I would go with the Tylenol. Its easier on the body then motrin.

I take tylenol or advil with claritin or benadryl all the time. However, things are different for children and they can have adverse reactions that adults might not.
