Ok, as a kid, my parents both smoked about a pack a day IN THE HOUSE. Gross and inconsiderate, I know. I got to thinking, I was exposed to TONS of both filtered and unfiltered smoke, and yet, I have NEVER ever smoked a cigarette. Why didnt I get addicted to cigarette smoke? I was exposed to the filtered stuff they blew out AND the unfiltered smoke from the buring cigarette? If cigarettes are so addictive, why arent i hooked on them?

I am a girl in 2nd-year high school and am in a science section. The guy's name is Kevin and I think is a bit smart(but not as smart as I am) who is in a regular section. My friends think having a crush on a regular section means comparing myself to them. He's taller than me by 2 inches and we've got good communication. I'm a basketball player and he's too.

I bought a portable DVD player. It's power plug converts AC electricity to 9 Volt/2.2 Amps. I bought an external rechargable battery for it so we would have an extra six hours to watch movies while traveling. The rechargable battery has an output of 9 Volts/4300 mAh and is plugged into the same DVD power port as the AC line would be plugged into if it were being used with house current. Am I going to blow up the player with to much electric input, or does the 4300 mAh mean something else besides Amps being provided by the battery? Thanks for any info.

When I went to school, we were correctly taught that 1,000,000 =One Million. 1,000,000,000,000 =One Billion & 1,000,000,000 =One thousand million, so why has it now been changed? Is it to appease the Americans who don't understand that 1,000,000,000,000 =One BILLION & NOT one Trillion as they seen to believe! It seems to me we are getting more like "Yanky- Land" every day, mores the damned pity. It's about time this "England" stood it's ground over values that are slipping away too fast in my opinion, just to be like the Americans, a sad day for all of us, I say.
