I've seen the acronym IHS all over the place--on altar cloths, holy cards, vestments, and prayerbooks--but I have no idea what it stands for. A friend signs his letters "IHS" and says it means "In His Service." What's the scoop?

A gets a free ink cartidge with his printer worth Rs.3100. B ink cartidge gets over in a few days. Since that day market is closed and due to the reason that both of them doesnt know that cartidge can be refilled with only Rs.250, so he asks A to give his free original cartidge for use and promises to return the brand new one by purchasing it from the market whnever A will require it in future. After few days when A also needs cartidge than B & A both came to know that instead of spending 3100 bucks on original, they can get the old one refilled with just Rs.250 but the quality of a refilled cartridge is much less than an original one and its life is less too . Now A wants B to pay him Rs.3100 so that he retains the benifit of the scheme. But B says that he is only responsible for cartidge so he will spend Rs 250 only and get it refiled & return him but wont pay him Rs.3100. What should be the solution?

I read in here alot from women and men who are so attracted to a certain person. Well if that person that you have been wanting so bad decides to take you out on a date and tells you that they been wanting to be with you too. The person tells you that they are ready to comit to you. Would you then have sex on the first date or wait some more? Remember you have been really wanting this person. If you wait, how long?

In response to missnikid's "German Tosser Qusetion" ("why are German people downright rude and ignorant...?"), it might be equally worth asking why the English people (from the German perspective) are obsessed with 1966 and WW2 ("we won the war", forgetting the Russians and Americans of course), and are prone to violent and drunken bouts of hooliganism...

Actually another ridiculous question of course - yet another national stereotype!

Isn't it closer to the truth that the Germans and the English are rather more similar than most of us would care to admit? which some of us find difficult to accept?

I write as an Englishman with half English, half German background.

I need a text/book/lyrics of a song/poem (anything literary) that uses a "train" as a metephor for life... you know, like a train life is a journey, where you meet new people all the time and where you say goodbye to others, because their journey/train takes them somewhere else, or because they have reached their destination (death?).. what writer used this?? PLEASE help, I need it for an essay!!

And please give me details, so that I can quote it!!
THANKS THANKS

I am a Christian but have some trouble understanding preordination. Like a factious book that is to be released in 2 days. The author knows all about the book start, finish, all in between. The readers know nothing about the story. The author has prescripted/preordained what will happen. The readers can't change it. How be it fictional, the characters in the book can't change anything, all things are scripted and in place. Is our life like that? God the author and we are going through the prescripted/preordained motions as the book (our lives) dictitates. If so, what choice do we have? The book (our life) is already set and we had nothing to do with it. Is that the way it is? God knows all things. He saw us in our mothers womb and before. I WILL be saved but this troubles me. Could Hitler have changed his life? Did he have a choice or was he a kind of "scape goat?" A guy gets killed in war. Had no choice in the matter. Did nothing wrong. Didn't want it to happen but it did Y Help me

I have been abusing laxatives for quite some time now. I want to stop but it just seems really hard. I eat right (fiber rich foods), exercise 3-5x a week. I drink water like crazy. I can't seem to go to the bathroom no matter what i do so i always seem to have to use a laxative. I don't want to use them anymore but nothing else works anymore.
