I have been abusing laxatives for quite some time now. I want to stop but it just seems really hard. I eat right (fiber rich foods), exercise 3-5x a week. I drink water like crazy. I can't seem to go to the bathroom no matter what i do so i always seem to have to use a laxative. I don't want to use them anymore but nothing else works anymore.

try psyllium husk, you take it as a food supplement after meals, works by adding bulk and drawing water into your bowels and doesn't cause dependence on laxatives.

this is quite normal when you have been on laxatives for a long time because your digestive system becomes slow and your intestines do not work as they should. Consult a nutritionist and she will run tests on you and will give you the right food for you. It is not always fiber and water the good diet to use the bathroom more frequently. these things are different for each and every individual.

Coffee makes me go. Once in a while I use suppositories when I travel. Laxative is really bad for you. Do you eat spicy food? Spicy food makes me constipated. Also, too much carbs will do it too.
