At age 47, I am working toward a bachelors degree in information science with a focus on programming. I also have an infant business going and work full time for someone else. My question is this: is it even worth it, at this point in my life, to persue a college degree? Who would hire a 49 year-old programmer fresh out of college? I have over 20 years in the IT industry, mainly on the hardware side. I am also actively growing a business in robotics and internet properties development.
I am finding myself with too much to do and very little time to do it in. Should I focus on the business or the education? Which one has more potential (at my age) for financial gain? I loathe working for other people, but may need a college degree to maintain my employability.
The posibilities are endless for me, but I can't go in all directions.
Any worldly bits o' wisdom out there?
