I'm trying to word this question in a way that won't offend people, but you know...there's one in every bunch. Not recently, but in the past, I've seen black people make fun of white people by (and I'm sure this is going to sound dumb) pronouncing all the syllables of a word. (i.e. "Hi Bill, how are you today?" was said from one black man to another, he pronounced his "Rs" hard and make sure to enunciate his words.) Why is this a bad thing? I don't understand why someone would think it's cool or correct or good in any way to say, "Hey yo, what up?" instead of "Hey Jack, what's up?" or "Save me a dess at da libary." instead of "Save me a desk at the library, please."

Why is this funny to so many black people to speak like you have an education and try to promote a good self image, instead of looking and sounding like you're from the ghetto?

Notice I say SOME. One of my attorneys is actually a black woman, and she's probably the smartest woman I've ever met...very refined.

I am just beside myself right now and I am probably not thinking correctly.

I live in a fairly good part of Connecticut, mostly caucasian and middle-class with good schools and all.... and just 5 minutes ago I was putting my 13 year old daughter's laundry away and I stumbled upon a knife and the knife was inside of a journal, the blade was exposed and it caught my eye. Could my daughter be suicidal ? Could my daughter be crying out for help ? Or is my daughter just eating peanut butter on crackers while she writes her journal every night before she goes to bed ? Which do you think it could be ?

Please help, I just don't know what to do right now and I don't know if I should further impose and inspect her recent journal entries, perhaps she is writing about me in there, or maybe she is writing about boys, I know I was into boys when I was her age, oh no, I don't know what to do, please help !!

I have over $100,000 in student loans and am not making very much money at all. I'm barely able to pay my bills and there is no way that I can manage $1100 a month. I'm wondering what would happen if I just send in $100 a month until I start to make more money. I can't even afford HALF of what I'm supposed to pay! All of this college did not lead to a very high paying job. FYI: These are FEDERAL loans and have already been consolodated. I still have a year of unemployment deferment left and will use it if I have to. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF YOU CAN BE PUT IN JAIL FOR NON (OR SLOW) PAYMENT OF STUDENT LOANS? I know they can take tax returns, bank accounts, and even prevent you from getting certain kinds of government jobs. If I work as a public school teacher can they take my teaching certificate? I'm not trying to get out of paying these debts, it's just that I can't do it on their schedule!!!! I would be dying at $200 a month, and they want more than I can pay. Any REAL asnwers please!

Christmas Cookie Ingredients

1 cup of water
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup of sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup of brown sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
4 large eggs
1 cup nuts
2 cups of dried fruit
1 bottle Jose Cuervo Tequilla Sample the Cuervo
to check quality. Take a large
bowl, check the Cuervo again, to be sure it is of
the highest quality, pour one
level cup and drink.

Turn on the electric mixer...Beat one cup of
butter in a large fluffy bowl.

Add one teaspoon of sugar..Beat again. At this
point it's best to make sure the
Cuervo is still OK, try another cup ... just in
case.

Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break 2 leggs and
add to the bowl and chuck in the
cup of dried fruit.

Pick the frigging fruit off floor... Mix on the
turner. If the fried druit gets
stuck in the beaterers just pry it lloose with a
drewscriver.

Sample the Cuervo to check for tonsisticity.

Next, sift two cups of salt, or something. Who
giveshz a sheet.

Check the Jose Cuervo. Now shift the lemon juice
and strain your nuts. Add one
table. Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink.
Whatever you can find.

Greash the oven.

Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall
over. Don't forget to beat
off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl out,
finish the Cose Juervo and make
sure to put the stove in the dishwasher.

I love doing crafts, and want to get back heavily into doing projects. I just love the calmness that it brings to my life. However, I will be the first to admit that I'm far from professional-looking. Some people might be ok with them as presents, but I don't think I could get away with it to everyone. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do with them after I'm done? I like doing ceramics, painting pottery (which I thought of painting and putting an herb in it as a present), painting wood things (like jewelry boxes that you get at Michaels, etc), suncatchers, bead work... I'm just afraid my husband is going to say "And what are you going to do with that when you are done?!" ...and I won't have an answer for him! Help!

I leave my hairdryer and straightning iron in my bathroom and they get a bit of moisture on them. I give them a wipe over before plugging them in.

I know you aren't supposed to get your hairdryer wet, can moisture be just as bad?

Before you say it - I do keep a privacy window open while using the bathroom at all times. I don't have one of those ventillation thingis in the ceiling.
