A tourist walked into a curio shop in San Francisco. Looking around at the exotica, he noticed a very lifelike, life-sized bronze statue of a rat. It had no price tag, but it was so striking he decided he must have it. He took it to the counter.

"How much for the bronze rat?"

"Twelve dollars for the rat, one hundred dollars for the story," the owner said.

The tourist gave the shop owner twelve dollars. "I'll take the rat. You can keep the story."

As he walked down the street carrying the rat, he soon noticed that a few real rats had crawled out of the alleys and sewers and began following him. This was disconcerting, so he began walking faster. But within a couple of blocks, the herd of rats behind him had grown to hundreds, and they began squealing.

He began to trot toward the Bay, but looking back he saw that the rats, now numbered in the millions, were squealing ever louder, and coming toward him faster and faster. Now scared, he broke into a run, then a full Olympic sprint to the edge of the Bay where he threw the bronze rat as far out as he could. Amazingly, the millions of rats all jumped into the Bay after the bronze rat, and they all drowned.

The man walked back to the curio shop. "Aha!" said the owner. "You have come back for the story."
"No," said the man, "I came back to see if you have a bronze Democrat.

Here's the deal, every my family and another family get together for dinner. We switch off between hosting each week. Problem is, when they're over at my house, we make it a point to have a good meal. Usually steaks on the grill or something really yummy that me and my husband put time and effort into. We like to make it a good dinner for all. When we go over there though, they usually just order pizza, and that's assuming we eat at all. It's really quite annoying and unthoughtful. How would you approach the situation?

PS: We really like these people, they're really nice and we always have a good time. But I feel that my family is the only one trying with the dinner thing.

In instances where the truth might 'hurt' as it were, would it not be better to tell a lie if it were to shield a person from pain?
Furthermore if you could not afford medicine to save a life, would it be permissible in God's eyes to STEAL it?
A clash of emotions and principles i'd say.

I have 15 pounds to lose. I had a baby a month ago and I'm breastfeeding. I also have a 20 month old. I go back to work full-time next week. I'm stressed because of lack of sleep and caring for 2 babies. I seem to relax with food. How can I stay motivated? Is there a way I can surpress my appetite?

Do you think he has returned to his old "diving" ways after the world cup. He seemed to have cut down the diving last season but was worth a "6" out of "6" for his dying swan dive in the penalty area.
