I hate Rooney and I hate Ronaldo, so I guess I do not have a bias towards either, I think rooney was sent off because of the pressure on him, he's 20yrs 3weeks previous broken foot, and on his own up front in the national team in the world cup, where the whole stadium expect him to score, and the millions around the world, if that is not pressure what is? that makes it a very irresponsible managerial decision by the manager.
Ronaldo seems to be a case of two loyalties, one to the national team he plays for, and the other to a foreign national league team who he also plays for.
Rooney should have ignored the situation by walking away, and the ref probably only given a yellow card, from looking at the video of the incident, it shows he did not intentionally kick the player in the goolies, his foot ended up there in the tangle. and if he did nudge the players goolies then it was accidental.
the incident should not affect the two players playing on the same team together, if they can make up and understand each others position at the time, then why the hell can't this world of gossip mongers get over it too.
as for Ronaldo diving as he does/did he should get a red card for those performances.

Regardless of what he done, he will return and in time everyone will forget.
Man Utd are building a team around Roo and Ron.
Of course the other thing is that Ron is actually a very good player (excluding swan lake impressions) he cost £13m. That's a lot of money to recoup I can't see many teams paying that sort of money for him.
People forget, Man Utd is a business now

i dont believe ronaldo assisted the sending off. im disappointed that a united fan would also turn their backs on one of their fellow players. ronaldo, as i have said millions of times, was a portuguese player at that time and he did what all players would do. (defend his team mate - CARVALHO, NOT ROONEY)...
from how i see it, if the english media doesnt back off and wants to continue being such a b*atch to ronaldo... AND the english fans continue being such crybabies and sour puss*es, and acting all barbaric (i heard ronaldo's apartment in manchester was damaged), i think ronaldo should leave. for his own benefit. as he said, "its hard to return to a country that does not welcome u"... and dont start with the whole "becks went tru the same thing" hooha... becuz becks is english and he cant just run away from his country. ronaldo is portuguese. he doesnt need to put up with all the shyte from the english fans. i just hope these nuisance fans would realise that they're jeopardising man utd's future by continuing this bullshyte. ronaldo is an awesome player. if he leaves, its man utd's loss.
and yes, im an MU fan and im bloody pissed with everyone acting like nutheads.

Well, he has to keep on playing for United because he's under contract. He can't just quit and play for Real Madrid in Spain like he's talking about in the press.
So, I guess for the players( Rooney and Ronaldo ) it'll be some what awkward, but what are you gonna do?

Rooney, like Zidane, needed no 'assistance' getting a red card. They earned it themselves. I think Cristiano Ronaldo should not return to Man. U because the fans don't want him and he doesn't want to be there either.

He should leave if he gets the oppertunity. I am Surprised Manch. U has not released him like I think it was AC Milan released Ahn when he scored the winning goal for Korea vs Italy in 2002 World CUp.

He should leave. I don't think he will be comfortable playing in England anymore. He says the booing did not bother him but you can tell it did. He is still young and things like this hurt you when you are young. And he has always wanted to play in Spain. Barcelona or Real Madrid, it doesn't matter according to him.

Yeah definitely he's by far one of the best young players around, & England wouldn't have got much further with or with out Rooney, they weren't good enough.

as much as i love the guy, i think the minute he steps on english soil he is gonna get a bullet in his head from the english fans who obviously hate him. he should prob leave cuz somethin will happen to him there because of the english fans pettiness and egos. i rate he'll move to real madrid or barcelona, im hoping barcelona. i really dont wanna support a team with beckam(yuck) in it.
