Do people live there for long periods of time??

I have a bad fear of flying, so I have been thinking of going by boat instead. I've looked on the net but can't find much on it, so just wondering if anyone on here has travelled this way & if it costs more than a plane flight? Also, how long would it take to say go from UK to Mauritius?

1 pump can empty a room full of water in 24 hours, while 2 can empty it in 12 hours, 3 pumps in 8 hours. if you keep increasing the number of pumps, the time it takes to empty will approach zero, but never reach it. Is this a valid analogy?

Instead of spending trillions of dollars on weapons and wars we could take that money and spend it on energy efficient non-carbon emitting technology such as widescale solar power. It's all very well ranting on about terrorism, but the planet will become pretty inhospitable to anyone unless we act now. HBO, Starz, Encore, etc...All say "commerical free" yet they have a logo (also known as a bug) in the bottom portion of the screen. To me this seems like advertising, which means that their programming is not commercial free. Also, while the credits are running, they usually post ads for upcoming movies, which is also advertising...Do you agree or disagree?
