Yeah, you can, they sound good on my phone. It is better than paying for ringtones. You can record anything. You saying something stupid as a ringtone, or a song, or a theme song from tv. You can also take pics on your phone, if u have a camera, and use them as a screensaver.

some phone companies are smarter so they can make sure that you have to buy ringtones or use the ones you have. other phone companies aren't as smart.
