If you go out with him, be careful. Things can happen that might be harder emotionally for the both of you to move on if the relationship doesn't work out. I know you want a b/f but think about what b/f & g/fs do...
I know it sounds really prude; but try to find out more about why he also wants a g/f, then both of you will be on the same page. This is probably exactly what your parents are thinking right? But since it's coming from them, it's easier to do what you think otherwise.
It's really hard to ask the important questions up front fearing that you'll turn him away, but think about what you want because I'm sure he's probably thinking about the same things.
Oh yeah, find out if he has any kids(their ages), is/was married, ever been incarcerated, has any dependancy problems, or has any crazy ex's. Just in case...
;)

Any guy who's into girls is by definition POTENTIALLY a boyfriend. But if you hardly know the guy, it means that he hardly knows YOU. It's possible that it'd become serious, just as possible to be ugly; specially if your parents disapprove. They may think you're seeing him ONLY because they don't want you together. I'd be nervous about my judgements. Ya said that you want a boyfriend, this may make you willing to ignore red flags. If your folks don't approve, and he's older, and though, does'nt know you that well, but says he's in love with ya? It sounds like a guy who's not all there in the head, or isn't being honest. Being lonesome may keep ya from seeing that.

Oh my goodness quit being so fickle...you don't sound like you really know what you want .Do you want to please your parents or date this guy? Decide that, then if your parents approve when he asks you out don't assume that he will be your boyfriend after one date. Let the Air out of your head and think about it for awhile!!!

Take you time and Please be straight up with him. As for mam and dad ...well like if he is 30 yrs older than you you might have an issue. A couple of years is not bad. Try it out first be his friend though and remember be straight up. Good luck~!

LOL- I don't think he can be in love with you if he doesn't know you. Talk to him, if you like him and think he's a nice guy. Ask your mom if he can come to dinner- that way they can meet him and feel comfortable with him- then he can take you out to a movie another time.

You can spend a little time and get to know him. Go out on a few dates and then decide if you like him or not.

first of all you don't go out with a guy because you want a boyfriend.
Second, if he wants you he'll let you know.
Don't count your chickens before they hatch, there just might be a bad egg in the batch.
