Why is it most religions make the feminine submissive or less than the male? Why are we so afraid and of what? Is there some presence, aspect, hidden understanding males need to suppress. Are we as men that scared of what humanity or our own psyches whisper when we lie alone, or is it something baser are we intended by what ever means to need the female so much we disregard the person for the idea of what she is or represents.

I'm 29 years old, and I have a master's degree in English and a bachelor's degree in psychology. I was unemployed for eight months due to downsizing. I've taught at two local community colleges as an adjunct - basically, that translates to really poor pay (about $1000/month for a full load and NO benefits). I've worked in addiction recovery part time for five years. During my unemployed period, I sold vacuums (!), worked for various temp. agencies for pennies, sold life insurance for about two days, and various other jobs that I wasn't meant for. I have a ton of skills and work well with all kinds of people. Right now I'm working in the mental health field and my company is downsizing. If I have to look for another job, I'll rip my hair out. Almost all of the interviewers told me that I was overqualified-but without a job, I can't live. What to do????

Doctor? An Engineer? A Teacher? A Designer? An Accountant? An Architect?
or would it be OK if they didn't have many skills, couldn't speak their native tongue well or write it, didn't have the ability or learning to do well in the world. Children learn most when they are youngest. School is VERY important early on and the QUALITY of education in early years apparently determines much of what goes on in life, later. Is it a professional career or a life of drug addiction or alcholism, crime, hopelessness? There is a lot of evidence that suggests children don't do well when they don't get good care, attention and education early in life.
Do you think that classrooms that are overcrowded have any effect on education? Does it make for more efficient teaching/learning when 60% or more of the kids in class don't speak English? Do you think your children will have ample opportunities for work when they do get out of school without solid education and opportunities to learn at an early age?

I am 59 years old and from Davenport Iowa. I was kind of bullied in to droping what was going on in my life and come out to California and take care of my aging mother and step father. When I arrived out here I was told I would have to get a full time job and take care of them at the same time. It is a full time job just taking care of them. I have been here for about 3 years. My mother is confined to a wheel chair she has dementha and parkinsons and a bad heart and she is blind. He has prastrait cancer and a bad heart. All they do is talk about dying. There minds are almost totaly gone and I cant do anything right as far as there concerned. I had to drop my girl friend back there in Iowa and get rid of all my posesions. I have a sister who lives out of state she is single but she refuses to help at all. She wont even come out here to visit untill one of them dies Now is that selfish or not? She says she hasent got the time to be botherd with them. I have my own life to live.
