reformat your hard drive, or just get a new, larger hard drive (the second is the best)
you can do a web search on line on how to do this if you don't know, print off all the instructions before you start to work though lol and know you will loose all the info on your current drive so if you have any photos or documents or anything you want to save be sure to back them up on a floppy or CD or something.

What You Need:

* Smartdrv.exe Which Can Be Downloaded HERE http://gktronics.topcities.com/smartdrv.exe If Needed.
Copy smartdrv.exe To Your Startup Disk.
Boot With Startup Disk And Format Your Hard Disk.
Type smartdrv.exe And Enter At The A:\> Prompt.
You Must Load Smartdrv.exe Or You Will Be Setting Up
For The Next 3 Days!

Now Type cd i386 And Enter, Then winnt And Enter.
Follow The Installation Instructions. It Will Look As
Though Your Computer Has Hanged, But Let It Run!
In Some Cases It Will Say It Can't Read Certain Files,
That's Ok Because Dos Can't Read The New File Types.
Hit esc Till Finished. The Files Can Be Added Later.
It Might, At Some Point Say It Cant Find Certain Files.
Thats Because Dos Put The Installation Files In A Temp

After XP Has Started, Click "Start" Then "Run".
Be Sure Your Windows XP CD Is Still In The Drive.
Type cmd And Enter. Now Type cd\windows\system32 And Enter.
Finally Type sfc /scanall.
The Files That Couldn't Be Copied Will Now Be Installed

The installer for the new OS has the ability to reformat the hard drive. If it's Linux, it'll delete all the partitions and create several of its own, or you can manually control them. If it's Windows, it will ask you which partition you want to install on. At that point, hit L and Enter to delete the highlighted partition, then highlight the appropriate free disk space and hit Enter to create a new partition there. Next, Windows will ask you how to format the drive. Choose NTFS (if it's XP, choose NTFS quick format), and you're off and running.
Make sure you have any important documents, downloads, and software serial numbers and registration codes backed up or printed out before you start.

if you mean completely and utterly wipe it out, os, files and all, I always recommend Dban:
http://dban.sourceforge.net/
it may be overkill for what you have in mind, but it certainly will get the job done =)
