I'm with you! I'd build my OWN shelter and take in every homeless animal I possibly could.
100% of my charitable contributions go to Animal Shelters and Rescue Groups. And 100% of my volunteer time, too. When it came time to donate money to the Katrina victims, my donations when to the animal rescue groups who went down there to save the furry friends left behind.
I personally am owned by 2 Golden Retrievers, Dusty and Duke, that were adopted from rescue groups, and both of which were slated for euthanasia. Their pic is my avatar.

I wouldn't donate I'd want to see the money make a difference I'd build a huge Foster home for children to stay until 21 instead of 18 and then I would build a no kill animal shelter were all animals are adopted out none are put down. And then the rest could go to the cancer awareness association to help out all the millions of children who need it most!

I'd definitely donate it for any purpose IN THE U.S.!
Enough of our politicians sending money overseas to help other countries when we have needs that should be addressed here in the States! I think of all the folks that live in the Catskills Mt's that live without running water, toilets!, electricity, etc. and don't have the money to get it. It is as if they are living in a third world country! This seems so wrong to me. And of course there is starvation there as well, no grocery stores for tens of miles, no gasoline for any cars they might have. Children growing up dirty, hungry, no schooling. Angelina Jolie is getting all sorts of publicity for her "Humanity" in adopting child from third world countrys and "cares" about them personally. Well, why not the children here Angie? I applaud her for thinking of others, and Johnny Depp lives in France because he hates what the US has become? I'd take my million and invest it so that it would continue to do its most good for the population of those in need here in the US. President Bush gave 5 million dollars to the Palestine housing problem but here in our County alone 38,000 people are being forced to demolish their home (at their own cost) and move due to population growth. No one is paying for the loss of my $24,000 Mfgd. Home and the $6,500 it took to have it demolished because I had no where to move it to! Give that 5 million to us, 38,000 homes being forced to disappear, so that we can afford to move into an apartment and give us the value of our homes! Our State Officials here don't care, they say the land owners are following the law and nothing we can do, no money to pay for your home having to disappear, and if you carry a mortgage, too bad, keep paying the bank its loan for a home that no longer exists?! No, my money would go to the citizens that need it the worst, not to some foreign country!

I would choose Middleton Outreach Ministry in Madison, WI. Food Pantry and Clothing Closet for the poor. I would divide it up and donate to all charities in my area that help the poor and underprivileged.

I'd have to split between poor families that can't well support their kids (food, college, ect.) and then I would have to helps some animal shelters too. It is sad that they can't do anything but put them down.

I would help people in the United States. We have enough problems in the world, but what good is it helping people away from home when you have people at home suffering?
