I hope this is not a question to create a battle of the sexes.
I should admit, i sometimes want my "bitter half" to be a little submissive in the sense that i should make the final decision being the man in the partnership. Besides, i swear to God, i never wanted anything to harm her or get her in trouble for everything i comtemplated with regards to any decision i make. I love her and want her to make me complete. Getting her to look up at me is not asking her to be submissive but I, as a man, as any man would, would enjoy being look up by her woman, admired and adored, not as a competition in partnership. In any ship, there's only one captain.
I know most women wanted to find a guy whom they can trust and rely on. And men enjoys being looked upon.
Women are more adorable too when you see them stick to their man in time of distress rather than left them.
But men, be loving also to your woman. Do not hit them with fist or anything. And try to always say calmly, amicable and humbly. It does not lose your leadership when we are humble leaders to our wives. I think women are more easy to follow when we lead them in mild manner though with firmness.
Im so drama!!!! Why i only know this this time, my first wife left me. Huhuhuhu! That means im no perfect being. I hope i would be better this time on.

By idealizing women, as either concepts or sex objects, you take away from them my friend. Best to treat indiviuals as such when you meet them. There are more viewpoints on femininity on this earth than there are people, and men are not responsible for all of them. Many things are learned from parents, many are decided by the individual, and many are redecided hourly. Attempting to apply logic to women as a group will always fail. Attempting to apply logic to a single woman will usually fail. We just see the world in different ways. However, if you think you're on to something with this train of thought, there's a book you would probably really enjoy. Check out "Fierce Invalids Home from Hot Climates" by Tom Robbins, enjoy!

Ok, you are right to ask. The answer is that an equal relationship is not structurally stable. A hierarchical relationship is stable. In equal relationships everything has to be discussed, even bargained. Sometimes even reverse bargained: Are you sure you don't want to have an icecream, sure ? Sure ? We can stop...
So, for eons, women lived essentially as houseslaves for males, and were selected largely based on physical appearance, altering their evolution. But, as you can see, this is changing in society at large. However, among the elites, the original hierarchical relation betw. men and women continues, and they form structurally stable and stong groups, and their children benefit. Why should the prime responsiblity for raising children be seen as degrading ?

It isn't a question of religion or meaning, it is a question of nature. Humans are animals wether or not we choose to acknowlede that fact. A lot of the way we think feel, and act is because of our animal instincts. In nature someone has to be in charge, and it should be the physically strong, and this is in most cases the male. It is an instinct to us to have the male be dominant over the female. It isn't because men don't care about women's feelings, or because they are afraid of us. But that is just my opinion.

To put it as simply as possible...testosterone. We are animals, regardless of what ideals we'd like to believe in, and we do act instinctually more than we realize. The way you treat others is relative to your hormonal levels and your DNA, not just how you were raised. That's why a lot of women subject themselves to submissive roles in the first place, and why men are more than happy with the wife in the kitchen, popping out kids. It's what nature intended.
Just remember, if we think we are smarter than animals, then we really ought to try not acting like them!

Wow, that is a REALLY good question. I have found that the men I've encountered over the years generally want to control me. Unfortunately, this is a direct result of my need of acceptance from my dad, who always seemed to want to change me (and controlling my mother). I have found that no matter how nice the man is, or what his original intentions, he really does want the woman to be submissive and to go along with his 'plan'.

Ego, fear and human standards. Ego because, men always like to be superior they are afraid to get in touch with their inner female because of what they might discover. Fear, another ego thing, men don't like to be taken over. Human standards, it was agreed upon by a group of people probably compose of all men that women are to be made submissive.

Because most religious men are terrified of other men being better than they are...so they make a bunch of stupid rules applying to women...all in the guise of this or that, but in reality, to keep women ignorant and being unable to compare man to man. Talk about insecurity!
