Okay, no smartazz comments about the Garden State... my new bride and I need something to do other than copulate for the 4 day 4th of July weekend... We're very new to the area and we need ideas as where we can go? We're on a budget so New York is out of the question, and we've already done that anyway... Philly is something we do every weekend anyway... so...Cape May? Ocean City? Poconos? Where do we see fireworks in Philly?

My husband and I are considering a move to PA, and want to find out more about the area. He works as a software developer so his job would probably be in or near Philly or Harrisburg. There aren't any jobs for him in York, Reading or Pittsburg. We like living in suburbs, but he would prefer not to have a long commute. We would also live to buy a house and probably can't afford more than 350k. We would like a safe area and I would like to have malls, outlets, etc. nearby. We've looked a little at Lancaster and like that area but it is too far to commute? We have read good things about Blue Bell but it is a little expensive. Elizabethtown seems like it might be nice for an area near Harrisburg. Any recommendations on areas?

They have this stupid sign stating "this is america when ordering speak english" the owner is from immigrant parents and has the nerve to put that up when he only has a ninth grade education. Since he thinks speaking english is so important, he should go back to school to at least get his education. What a dork! What do you think?

I am planning on visiting Philadelphia from New York City during the summer. I am looking for some fun places and clubs to hang out in. I am looking for Jazz, R&B, Soul, Neo-Soul oriented bars and clubs to hang out in and meet people; if they cater to an older (30s) crowd, the better.

I am not looking for the expensive, exclusive, or pricey places, but the more local spots where the real people go to enjoy the music and party -- not the touristy glamorous spots. Restaurants or bars that have local bands/music/open mic are fine -- I want to truly experience the City of Brotherly Love!

I would also appreciate a listing of nice local restaurants (not in the South Street/tourist areas) that I could visit as well, to get a real flavor of Philadelphia.

If anyone could help with names and locations of local spots, or even websites to help with my search it would be greatly appreciated!

hello. there was this song by a local philly artist that i LOVED that went, i believe, " and a voice cried catherine marry catherine she'll be good for you, and you may find that you're good too..." and it was on an XPN album... do they still put those out?
