Buddakan for Asian fusion, Tangerine for Middle East inspired cuisine...both have amazing atmospheres, though Tangerine is a bit better I think. If the weather is nice, eat outside on the terrace at Washington Square, chef Marcus Samuelsson opened the place, he's moved on but it's still good. Iron Chef Morimoto's restaurant, same name...is legendary. Amada is fantastic, serving a Spanish/Mediterranean menu. Alma De Cuba is among the top restaurants in the city, a modern take on Cuban food. For a bit more "Philly flavor", go Italian...BYOs are very popular here (bring your own wine) and the food is usually among the best in the city...this is how a lot of the "up and coming" young chef's strike out on their own with limited budgets. A must try is L'Angolo for Italian, or Django which is isn't Italian, but has a very creative chef and it's difficult to get reservations. Hope I didn't overwhelm but the restaurant scene here is very exciting these days. Also, check out www.starr-restaurants.com.

Tony Luke's is good. Pats/Genos are ok at best, worth going once just to say you've been there. Reading Terminal Market is gooood. Rick's steaks in there, Deliliah's, all the Dutch shops can't go wrong in there.
Check out Morning Glory for breakfast. Standard Tap, Warmdaddys, Ortlieb's Jazz house at night. Get Philly pretzels somewhere too. Try some 'scrapple', and Rita's Water Ice.

Visit Old City. Many fabulous restaurants. Tangerine is my favorite and Cubre Libre. I also Heard World Fusion was good. The Continental I heard was good too. A local hangout.
Philly is full of history. Enjoy:)
