The water gap?
Uh, no. That wouldn't romance me.
Go to New Hope. It is romantic bed and breakfast central, and quite affordable. It has cute little shops for her, and a theater in the town that does live shows constantly and they are good too. It has excellent little restaurants that are cheap too. The Italian/pizza restaurant under the stairs doesn't look like much but has the best homemade gnocchi on earth. We know the woman who owns the chocolate store and a trip there is definitely in order as the have the best chocolate covered strawberries I have ever eaten. There are more upscale expensive restaurants too, and you can walk and picnic along the river or take a boat ride. You can also walk over the bridge (cool) into Lambertville New Jersey, which is very nice, and for long distance exploring, take a short car ride to Princeton NJ. But I would just book a b&b in New Hope and park my car and walk everywhere.
It's a very eclectic place too, and has stores that focus on spirituality and new age stuff. There is one store that is like a warehouse of women's indian (from india) type clothing too that women love. The whole place looks a lot more expensive than it is, which is nice too.
Have fun!

Definitely the Water Gap. It's off of a major roadway so it's easy to get to any of the campsites and it's beautiful. Head up there in late July, August so that the water is a bit warmer...it's a much different Delaware River than we're used to in Philly.

I would suggest the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. One of the prettiest riverways on the entire eastern seaboard.
