Am visiting Orlando in mid-April with my family - husband, two kids aged 18months and 6, and wondered best places to stay, and also which parks are best for visiting for both the children. have considered the Wyndham resort on International drive, or Holiday Inn, or Disney's Port Orleans.

Don't want to make the wrong choices as the parks are so expensive and I'd like the kids to get what they can out of it. Is it worth hiring a car and going to Kissimee?

thanks

We are going to Florida for the first time, and want a nice hotel for just hanging out with the kids (age 18months and 6). It's not worth the cost doing the theme parks as they are so young, but we'd like to spend lots of time in the sun by the pool, and hopefully they will have children's activities?
We've heard International drive is bustling and good to walk around and people watch, also maybe hire a car and go to some local places. Any ideas?

My Mom is a grade school teacher and her spring break is the first week of April. I'd like to go to Florida with her. We'd have to fly out of Gary, IN or South Bend, IN or Midway, Chicago or last resort, O'Hare in Chicago. I was thinking Orlando would be cheap if we stayed in town and not at Disney. I was thinking 4 or 5 nights and maybe going to MGM or Animal Kingdom 'cause I haven't been there yet. Anyone know of any good packages at a decent hotel with a nice swimming pool and attractive grounds with a shuttle to Disney?

Ok, I know the Universal Orlando resorts are all on-site hotels but which hotel (Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel, Pacific Royal Hotel) is the closest to the park exactly?

if you live(d) in florida do you think orlando, and especially disney, would be as attractive to you if you lived far away? say, here in england? or would you avoid it like the plague?!! i think i'd probably spend as much time there with my kids as possible, but i could be wrong? . . . . .

I want to plan a trip for me, my mom and my sister to disney world for a week (As soon as I save up enough money!)

Buy, we have a really low income, even with my mom's job (I'm 16, my sister's 12 and my mom...well, she's past 40 but we love her anyways)

If we stayed in a Disney Value Resort, would we have as much fun? What about food? Do the food courts offer anything healthy like spagetti or steak or baked chicken or something? I don't want to just eat junk for six days. I want us to be able to go to the park with out a stomachache from too much ice cream and pizza.

Oh yea, what's your favorite Value resort?

I saw on the vacation planning video the Shark Reef and I just wondered if there was an added cost to swim with the sharks. The web site just says snorkeling gear is provided. My sons friends have done excursions with dolphins but none have swam with sharks...quite an experience for a 7 year old. Also can you use underwater cameras while in the tank?

We are using Disneys Value Vacations for our trip this year. They say check in is at 4:30(?) and I was wondering if there is a way that you can get your passes early without actually getting in your room first. That way we can use part of the first day to go on some rides.

Looking at the map of the grounds, it looks like it might be just as easy to take the shuttle to Epcot first, then ride the monorail over to the Magic Kingdom. Any other Disney transporation tips appreciated.
