Ok, I know the Universal Orlando resorts are all on-site hotels but which hotel (Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel, Pacific Royal Hotel) is the closest to the park exactly?

It depends which park you are actually planning to spend the most time at. Hard Rock is closer to Universal Studios and Royal Pacific is closer to Islands of Adventure. Portofino sits the furthest out, but would be closer to Universal Studios. If I would have to pick one, I think I would say that Hard Rock is a little closer to both parks than Royal Pacific, but I think they would be about equal for distance to both.

The Hard Rock Hotel is the closest to the parks. You can walk from the Hard Rock to either Universal or Islands of Adventure...You would have to take a shuttle to get to the parks from the other 2 hotels.
