My mom doesn't like wild rides and she doesn't want to go on any. But my sister (age 12) and I (age 16) love them. How can we make sure that our mom won't feel left out when we go on rides? Should we invite other people to go with us? HOw can i make sure that everyone is happy?

My mom agreed to ride the Cali River Rapids! So that's a start. Oh, i haven't planed this yet, but i'm just worried that she'll be unhappy. I don't want that to happen on vacation. We're on a budget, but i still feel that we can have fun. Even if we are going to be in a value resort possibly.

Attention to love 2 shop:
My mom doesn't want to invite anyone else. It's just me, her and my sister. That's our family and that's all we need. My sister and i will not be riding rides all day because we plan on spending the vast majority of our time with each other. But thanks for the suggestion anyway.

just go on the rides your mom might like too maybe do a wild ride then the carousal then a wild ride then dumbo that way your mom won't feel so left out. Make sure you go to the stuff she wants to see like the shows and maybe she will get a kick out of having photos with her favorite character. Also see if you can get her in the shade with a drink while you are standing in lines.

You are definitely going to have a blast. Disney is the perfect place for everyone because they offer such a wide variety of rides, from easy going to more of a thrill ride. Nothing at Disney, however, is going to be as bad as the coasters at places like Universal. Even their more thrilling rides are pretty easy going.
I think that your mom is going to find plenty of things that she will enjoy. If she is willing to go on Kali River Rapids, I would say that at least half the rides in Disney or easier than that ride. Plus, there are shows, parades, fireworks, etc. You should definitely go over the rides with your mom and see which ones sound like fun to her and also find out which one's she is not real sure about, ask around and see what others opinions are. I have some friends that are pretty "wimpy" when it comes to rides and they ride just about everything at Disney. There are only a few rides that I would suggest her not riding, for example, Mission Space, Space Mountain, Tower of Terror, Rock n Roller Coaster, etc. These are not really bad rides, but for someone that doesn't like thrill rides, they may not be the best choice.
As far as taking someone along, I think that would be a good idea. If your mom had someone to "hang out" with while you and your sister road the rides, it would make the trip a little more fun. Of course, she will have fun just because you and your sister are having a good time, but that doesn't mean she should have the trip of a lifetime as well.
The value resorts are great. You are going to get the same service and treatment, a clean room, and all the added benefits of staying onsite, but at a lower price than what you pay at a deluxe resort. Yes, the moderates and deluxe resorts are nice, but not everyone needs all the extras that they offer. If you are traveling on a budget, then the value resorts make for a great choices.
The biggest thing I can say is for your mom to have an open mind about the rides. Kali River Rapids is not one of the calmest rides in Disney, so if she can handle that, there are a lot more rides that she will be able to handle and have a good time with you and your sister as well. And again, be sure to look over what each park has to offer so she knows beforehand.
I will include a few links with some info that you, your sister and you mom may enjoy, hopefully it will help a little more with the planning as well.
I hope you have a great time!

My mom doesn't go on fast or "scary" rides either. But there are plenty of fun slow rides at Disney (spaceship earth, Peter Pan's flight, Honey We Shrunk the Audience, Bugs Life 3D, The Haunted Mansion, and many, many others). Your mom can wait in line with you and your sister when you go on the fast rides, and when you get on the ride, your mom can simply exit the ride and wait for you to get off. And you can all go on the fun slower rides together. That's how my family does it, and we always have a good time. Just limit your fast rides to a few in each park so that she isn't waiting around for you all day. There are also lots of shows, restaurants, and stores to go to. There should be no problem with having fun!
P.S. - if you want to save money, staying at a holiday inn or something outside of disney world will save alot. Disney hotels are very overpriced. There are hundreds of hotels within five minutes of disney that are a great value.

Skittles, we are not thrill seekers by any means. In fact NONE of us enjoy fast rides. And yet we've been to Disney World more times than anyone we personally know. We keep going back because there is plenty to do and see that doesn't involve fast scary rides. What's more it's so much fun. We always have a blast. I would suggest you and your sister ride while Mom gets on other rides or see attractions that suit her. Rather than she wait for you, y'all should use the cell phones to regroup after your ride. She can also have a snack and people watch. It's fun watching other families have fun. Hope this helps.

My family and I are not really into the wild rides either.. But i have been to Disney twice and LOVED it.. There are tons of shows that she is going to enjoy and there are rides that are not that bad that she might enjoy joining you. Also you will not want to miss out on the smaller not so exciting rides either. There are tons that are very fun... If I were you I would go onto the Disney World Wed site and go over rides with you mom.. I am sure that she would like to read on things and that way you two can plan together..

This family of 3 loves Disney World. I too am not a wild ride person, but my husband and daughter are. So they go on the wild rides and I sit and people watch or go find something else to do while they wait in line and go on the ride. There is definitely something for everyone at Disney. Go and have a good time. You won't regret it.

once she gets there she will loosen up no one can be unhappy in disney land even if she doesnt go on the big rides there is plenty to do lots of shows and lots of rides that are parent proove and that she will enjoy what i would do is when you first get there you and yuor sis get easy pass which is a pass that gives you a certain time to come back and get on the ride so that you dont have to wait inline then go back and do something with your mom like see a show or go on the small rides like peter pan and buzz light year i know those sound lame but they are classics and very pretty to see then when its time to get on your big rides mom can go shopping theres lots of shops that she will be able to keep busy in have fun

First of all Skittles, that is very sweet. Talk to mom and see what she plans to do while you and sis are on the wild rides. There are shows, attractions, shopping or maybe she will just enjoy watching her children on the rides. Kids grow up fast and sometimes Moms just like to watch them while they still can. Have a great time.

does your Mom like to take pictures? make her the duty photographer, which is actually a very important job....someone has to record the trip! have a great time! oh, and have your Mom buy one of those lightweight portable fold out seats that fit in a backpack, a lifesaver while waiting in lines and waiting for the ride to end.

I took my 77 year old mom to disney twice. She rode most of the rides with us. She ready enjoyed disney. When she didn't get on the rides she was shopping and having a snack. We had to go looking for her when we got off the ride because she found other things to do.
