I used to live in Orlando, FL and have not been there for about 5 years or so. I will be visiting next month and want to know of any good places to go while I am there (that may be new since I left). Any suggestions? Also, I will be going to Disney, anything new there in the last 5 years? Thanks!

The Mall at Millenia is new. It's off Conroy Rd. It has all sorts of high end stores.

They're rebuilding the Belz Outlet Center, but it is still open while under reconstruction.

The Orlando Science Center has "Our Bodies, the Universe Within" as their main attraction.

Downtown Orlando looks completely different. All sorts of high-rise apartments have been built and there are a bunch of new shops near Lake Eola. Since you've been gone, the Church Street Exchange changed ownership and has completely emptied out.

As far as new attractions at Disney, there's Expedition Everest--a new roller coaster at Animal Kingdom, Pirates of te Caribbean has been updated with the addition of Captain Jack to the attraction, Lights, Motors, Action!--a new stunt show at MGM, the High School Musical Pep Rally--a new show at MGM, Soarin at EPCOT, Living Seas--it's been updated to an all Nemo attraction now, etc. PI looks completely different--they have a new Irish Pub called Raglan Road. Oh, and don't miss Wishes, the new fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom.

Generally, the biggest change to the area is that there are more houses and less orange trees where the orange groves used to be.

new zoological park - and in the magic kingdom - changes to Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted mansion due to their movies out

Mr Toad's wild ride is gone - I believe Winnie the Pooh is the replacement - 20000 leagues under the sea is out - another neat kiddie area in it's place

and the price is now around $60 to get in (was $3.75 for adult when I first went in Orlando)

Buzz Lightyear is where - "If you had wings" was

welcome home
