I plan on moving to Los Angeles in June/July of next year. I've been looking for over a year and studying the city and places and all that and I've found some pretty good looking apartments in nice neighborhoods for around $700-$1400 a month. $700 being for a studio or one bedroom and $1400 for a two bedroom, I'm hoping to get a roommate when I get out there or before I get out there.

I willing to live with the bare minimums for a while when i get there..i heard that goodwill is a good place to find furniture. I will most likely have a Toyota Prius by the time i move out there or another hybrid car because of gas and the only other thing I'm bringing with me besides that will be clothes, a $60 a month cell phone bill, and $106 a month car insurance payment...which I will probably have a few months already paid for in advance.

I am a pharmacy technician here in Tuscaloosa, AL making $9.50/hr and hope I can find another pharmacy technician job in LA once soon after I get there.

I am travelling from Boston is few weeks to L.A to take the LAPD test. I was wondering if is there any other option besides a taxi to get from the airport to any motel in the vicinity of E. Temple Street in Los Angeles where the test is taken. Are there trains from the airport ? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

I am travelling to anaheim for the UFC fights but there are no direct flights to John Wayne, so I thought if LAX was close enogh to Anahiem I would just fly into there and take a car to Anaheim. Is this a good idea?

I asked this question earlier and got no real response. I'm not going out their to become some actor, me and my friends are between the ages of 21-23 and are in school. We were wondering where the best apartments/duplexes are. We are fully aware how expensive the cost of living is and don't expect to arrive their with big eyes but we we're wondering if anyone out their can just give us a couple places that are 1,500-2000. Thanks and I appreciate it.

I grew up in Los Angeles and I'm so sick of the noise, pollution, "urban paradise" and most of all, the outrageous home prices. In L.A. I'll be lucky to afford a townhome in Valencia...in Temecula the same price will get you a beautiful 2 story 4bdroom home! So is it worth moving there for the home values? p.s. I rent and I'm so tired of renting!!!

I'm taking a job based 1/2 in Northridge, CA and the other 1/2 traveling so I'll need access to LAX (or another commercial airport) about 4 times a month. I'll be renting either a condo or apartment and my budget is about 1500-1700 a month. Where's the best place to start looking for a place? I'm 30, single, male, straight... looking for fun community and it doesn't have to be the center of nightlife but does need to have a personality.

I am trying to plan a honeymoon and considering southern California. I want a resort style hotel that is at least within walking distance to the beach. I would like there to be a spa. Within an hour or so drive from LA and Disneyland for possible excursions. I would like it to be mainly for adults, not families. We are trying to not go completely expensive either, so something nice, but on the lower end of the expenses (we can go all-inclusive to St. Lucia for $3000, so that is our price basis).

I heard of 2 observatories in the Los Angeles area. The one in Griffith Park and another one at Mount Wilson. I basically would want to find out which one is better. What do they both have to offer? The one at Mount Wilson seems to be located in a really nice area. But I don't really know what there is to do there. Also, does any of these obervatories also have really cool shows or something at night time? I would really appreciate any helpful detailed information.
thanks
